The Olive Branch

The Puma Druid perches within a tree in the mountains, gazing out at the plagued lands on the orcish borders. A soft frown remains upon his expression, a certain pain in his gaze. His staff rests across his back in its usual place, those attuned to nature able to sense the life within it. His legs are crossed in a lotus fashion, his hands resting on his knees as he contemplates the events that have taken place so recently. The repeated attacks on the grove. Threats of death, of burning, vengeance for their actions against the orc’s wishes to serve the spirit of decay.

Still, it was not in his nature to remain hateful. He leans back against the trunk of the tree, pulling out a scroll and quill, as well as a small inkwell. He dips the end of his quill into the ink, wiping away the excess on the lip of the inkwell, and proceeds to write a message. Upon its completion, he blows lightly on the ink to dry it. Then, he pulls a single olive branch from his pack, rolling up the scroll around it and binding it shut with a verdant ribbon. A sharp whistle leaves his lips. He need only wait a moment before one of the many eagles that dwell the frozen mountains of Tyravik glide down, snatching the scroll from his hands. A single word, and the bird flies off to drop it off for the intended recipient.

Rex Kharak’Raguk,

For a long time we have been at odds with each other. From the moment you entered the Oasis Grove asking we erect a shrine to the spirit Orgon, few interactions between us have ended in less than violence. But the past is past, and what is done is done. Despite the attacks and the blood of my brothers and sisters spilled upon the earth, I am not one to hold a grudge. You only wished the best for your people, and that much I can respect and relate to.

Let us join for a matching cause. You do not want your people to become slaves to Orgon. My people are duty-sworn to protect balance. We can help you take his power from him. We can help to repair the lands still tainted and plagued within your borders. Let us help you. We ask for nothing in return. We hold no ulterior motive. We only wish to heal the damage done to nature along the road.

Let the shamans and the druids join as one to restore balance both in nature and in the spirit world. Perhaps it is not too late. Perhaps we can still bring a stop to this. I extend this olive branch as a sign of peace between us, that we may move forward and fight as one to protect that which we both hold dear. Together, there may still be hope. And if not... better to fight with all your strength and die trying than to lie down and allow the inevitable.

Signed,

Puma Druid Taynuel

Archdruid of the Druidic Order

As a close friend and Targoth to Kharak, Vorgo'Yar would hear upon the news of a peace with the druids. He'd snarl and growl with the last memory of a Druid attacking him and his fellow Orks for no reason. "Nub Druudz ahm peezez uf zkah whu defyend rokk urukz! Da azh tik wi azk dehm tu flaht owr enemyz, dey dezide tu leeve ur klomp aht uz inztead!" He'd tighten his clench on his staff with rage as he offers his decision to the Rex.

Spoiler

"No druids are pieces of shits who defend Rock Orks! The only time we ask of assistance to kill our enemys, they decide to simply leave of attack us instead!"

Shagarath chuckles, knowing the young Rex nor his brotherin would agree to such a truce. "Dey am zurvantz ub fahlze heretik Azpektz. Neb'ur zhall wi zaid wif dem. Fur dat am nub dah Zpiridz wai... Iet am nub dah Uruk wai."

Spoiler

"They are servants of false heretic Aspects. Never shall we side with them. For that is no the Spirids Way, it is not the orc way."

Kharak'Raguk would read over the parchment carefully, his eyes scanning every word in a languid movement. Before long, his gaze trailed off as he sat in contemplation.

"Hrrm." He mumbled, standing from his otherwise slouched position, and making his way over to his writing table. It was quite simply a large slab of iron, with a smooth surface in the centre. He sat himself down in a hunched position, narrowing his eyes in concentration as he penned the letter himself.

When he had finished, he glazed over it with nods of content, before rolling it up and sending it off on a Desert Hawk.

It would read:

To the Isldushatâru, I address this letter.

You had failed for years to quell this power, and you have provided many examples of your incompetence during the campaign of Orgon.

Now, a new campaign has started; one that will spell the weakening of Orgon. It will require strength. Strength you do not have.

Despite this, I will no longer harm your people. I have no reason to, but nor do I have a reason to accept your help. For this is an issue that I birthed into the world, and it is one that the Uruk will repel for our Father, so that he may see the strength and resolve of his Children.

Gaakh uruk-hai azub'darûkûrz.

Wargoth Gargrun`Gorkil would grumble slightly upon hearing news of this, but he would keep his peace.

Yup sighed deeply upon hearing the news. He sat at his table in silence, his demeanor seemingly calm. He slammed his hand against the table suddenly and furiously. "NUB! DAH DRUUDZ HAV FLATTED TUU MANEH UB MI CLOZE FREHNDZ. Dey cannub weazll owd ub dihz! Dey ahr heretikz agh monztuhrz! Juhzt laik dah pinkiz, wiggleng owd ub ah klomp befuhr idz ova!" The orc would sigh again, dropping back into his seat. "Nub..."

Jukha hears of this, grumbling as he remembers the Druid who's hand he cut off, becoming slightly enraged as he remembers the Kitty who killed Yug's wolf. A new hunt began, the hunt for a Kha.
