Hickory Dims hears of the radigator attacks, he immediately calls the militia up and puts up an offer for skilled hunters to be paid by the government for each radigator head they acquire around and within the Mississippi River. Calling his chief commander of the militia forces, Thomas Gard, up he asks what can be done about the midgets. "Well we must send men to protect the caravans, though most of them have parished, I would advise, even with the radigator attacks, that we have to protect our equipment in some way," says Thomas. Hickory nods slowly, "Yes, we do... Hmmm." Grabbing a piece of parchment, he begins writing orders dictating that a squad of militia men be present at all trading journeys. A group of advisors walk into Hickory's office, "Sir, the storm season is brewing soon, we must be supplied for this." Hickory curses to himself silently, "Sell as much of the Numbgrass to the northern civilizations as possible and trade it for weapons. Knowing how many behave after devastation, the drug should be a hit. But with that in mind, I now dictate that marijuana be available for every citizen to use when at home, should they grow it themselves or buy it from vendors."

Republic of Washington

"A Union of Victory, Under the Grace of GOD"

zcxB96q.png

“When we secured this land, we secured our children’s future,”

The Field Marshal and President of the Republic, addressing the assembled officers and soldiers in the recently conquered eastern regions of Washington, the neat and orderly ranks standing stiff as stone, banners fluttering in the cool wind. Many soldiers still were putting down remaining resistance in settlements, but they were no match for the well trained army of the Republic. Power armor helped too.

“America lives on in all of us, in each and every person who lives in our glorious Republic. Rest easy, for in your heart you know that we shall liberate our future from the shackles of despair, starvation, thirst and radiation. One day our descendants shall rejoice to know they had such brave men and women to ensure their life was not one of struggle. God bless our Republic, and God bless all of you. I'm damned proud.”

Field Marshal Alexander would smile to the assembled who erupted in cheering and rejoiced, they'd won a piece of America back, a piece of their children's future.

At home, the captured Vancouver scouts would be interrogated as to their origin. Upon finding out of the Island of Vancouver and their mission, a trio of Vertibirds with a diplomatic envoy would arrive with a full military escort, clad in Power Armor outside Vancouver's capital. The Republic's national anthem would play over the Vertibird's loudspeakers, and the captured scouts walking alongside the armed escort, unharmed, and in better hygiene and clean clothes than they had departed with.

Across the Wasteland, a broadcast would play. . .

"Helloooo there boys and girls! It's your main man, Doc Holiday again, now with a wider range of transmission. Comin' at you from the heart of America, Tombstone. Times are changing boys and girls, remember to lock your doors at night if you're down in Texas. Word is, a nasty raider gang called 'Los Diablos' hasn't been playin' very nice. It's up to the Texas Rangers to put it down. Remember, if you see a Ranger, tip your hat, he's out fightin' the good fight and makin' the Wastes a better place.

It's almost Hurricane Season! This is no joke kids, board your windows, stock up on food, and keep one in the chamber. We all know what Hurricane Season means, lots of Radgators, desperate folks, and a spell of Chaos. Prayers go out to the folks of Louisiana Garden, keep on stayin' righteous my friends.

Ever heard of the Oregon Cannibals? Used to be a pain in the rear not too long ago, but they seem to have disappeared altogether! Traders along the routes up to Evergreen Washington from the shells of California's cities say that it's green up there, and the radiation is gone. Is nature reclaiming what belongs to it? What does this mean for the future? More updates as they come rollin' in.

Talk's been travellin' fast boys and girls, seems that ol' Caesar has finally kicked the bucket, and Lanius, the pet Legate, see how that rhymed, is gone. The tribes under the Legion are divided, and it's war in Colorado. Stay clear kids. I guess this is good news for the New California Republic, who have taken control of Hoover Dam. Again. For the third damn time. And again, New Vegas ain't havin' it. If they want it, they're in for a bare knuckle brawl for sure.

Now enough chit chat boys are girls, and lemme spin a new track I found for ya'll. Remember, stay tuned to Holiday Radio for more of me, Doc Holiday, the best gunslingin' jockey out there."

The DJ, Doc Holiday, would proceed to play an instand classic

The Pheonixes

The queen would sigh rubbing her neck tiredly as she comes back from another meeting with the council members, she would make her way back into her small room in the Government building/palace and looks over the stack of papers which she slowly begins to flip through. Once she sorted the important from the not so important she would set to work looking over them and thinking of what to do before giving her opinion along with her signature. Outside the city would continue to go under construction, fixing the old broken city to look better and cleaner along with making it safer for its growing citizen's, further out of the city the walls would begin to gain two key gates which would be further fortified by the city security and a few guards would have the job of keeping track of the coming's and going's of the people going in and out of the city. More security would begin to patrol the perimeter of the walls and set up smallish check points with turrets a bit out from the Capital while the sky scrapers inside the capital continue to be used by the standing army as large outposts, overlooking the surrounding landscapes with snipers or binoculars.

~Actions~

- A growing sense of professionalism would steadily take hold in the militia's and soon once the Queen was notified would finally form a disciplined and cohesive standing army garrisoning in the Capital first due to its smaller size but a training and recruitment campaign would begin to increase the size of the military which would be equipped with the better equipment.

- Outposts would begin to be placed out side of the Dallas, using the long distance radio's to determine where they should be placed and once they're set up turrets would be set up along with a small garrison force.

- Now that there were designated trading routes in the Nation, those routes would grow much more protected and safer for the common merchant or person as large groups of soldiers would move through patrolling the routes with the armor made in the capital and using the best available weapons.

- In response to the kidnapping of a government official, a bounty would be placed on the group of bandits making sure it's not to ridiculous so the nation's coffers would not be so harshly affected. As a counter measure a task force would be set up to go retrieve the official but being told not to risk to many lives in the process.

- The House of Commons idea would be accepted and the people would gain a voice in the government's meetings, this would cause the meeting room to be to small and the meetings would now be held in a old courtroom which would be fixed up to fit their needs.

- Scouts would be sent out in multiple directions to explore neighboring counties, searching for resources or possible trading partners...Essentially looking for anything to help them in the future and would be asked to designate markers on places that were possibly resource rich(marking building's/sites and stuff).

Vancouver Island (Southern End)

Steve smiled, heart soaring. Vancouver's cities were beginning to bustle once more, for he would commonly walk the streets and see many a face, proud and empowered to know that the wasteland had not touched them here. He could see it in their eyes, and in their smiles and beams as he strolled past, boots crunching against gravel. With another friendly conversation out of the way, with a very young child and his laughing mother, Steve rounded the bend at the end of the street, he looked upon the renovated district of the city. Though cars in horrible condition still flanked the road, the sun was shining straight through the middle from down the open-ended road. He embraced its light, approaching it and feeling his smile grow ever wider. He forgot of what few troubles he had- that the scouts had not yet reported back was naught, and glimpses from garrisons across the Northern End was just rumor. It was just a distraction from the sun's beauty. . . and the dark dot that clouded it.

Steve looked up, suddenly alarmed. The dots were multiplying- he noticed them quickly and in turn, before suddenly turning and running. Never- never would he have thought of the aerial end of combat. Whoever that was, or is, the guardsmen would find great trouble in driving it back or destroying it- and despite that notion, Steve bolted for the garrison headquarters. When he burst in, dishevelled from his run, and began blubbering to the captain present, he was forced to calm and explain himself- and then the captain began blubbering, almost foaming at the mouth, grabbing up his arms and ordering others to do the same. With two score armoured soldiers in tow, one armed with an antique Panzerschreck that had but one rocket left, they marched back out, now in a steady and authorative formation of four by ten, headed by Steve, and off towards the Washington escort. He thought, for a moment, they might be here to talk- and yet if they weren't, he had the firepower to take the alternative.

Actions:

  • Continued renovation of buildings across Vancouver Island.
  • Mobilization of garrisons across the southern end of the island (1 page.)
  • Attempted storming of the Vault by a couple North-end Vancouver garrisons (1 page.)
  • Continued resource gathering in Vancouver.
  • Attempt at setting up a weapons factory in the center of the island (1 page.)

Republic of Washington

"A Union of Victory, Under the Grace of God."

FsLxBVz.png

In the late evening the Field Marshal Alexander would rub his heavy eyes, reports flooded in from the new territories of restless settlements and protests to the occupation in Yakima. Trials descended from the old Indian peoples attacked troops on patrol, but their primitive weapons barely scratched the power armor worn by the elite of the Army. However, it meant wasted ammunition and more wear on weapons. The newly conquered people had difficulty adjusting to being second class citizens, especially those who were previously important. The advisers of the Field Marshal suggested a Lower House to represent the second class, giving them the illusion of power and equality. And so it was, the Field Marshal authorized the creation of an Upper and Lower House of Senators.

Meanwhile in Vancouver. . .

Lieutenant Lucas van Echten walked with a charmer’s smile, the well kept officer’s uniform and cap in stark contrast to the harsh military vibe of the power armored soldiers flanking him, plasma weaponry in hand, one with a Gatling Laser humming with a the charge of a small fusion reactor. The diplomat would stop a good hundred feet from the advancing party as the anthem blaring from the Vertibirds faded. The captured Vancouver scouts were allowed to go to the party of their respective nation, Lucas speaking in a suave and educated manner as the Island’s leader came into earshot.

“Mister Steven, good to finally meet you. I am Lieutenant Lucas van Echten, Republic of Washington and diplomat on behalf of President and Field Marshal Alexander Augustus Kennedy. As you see, your men are well cared for. Washington extends an olive branch, my friend, a hope for peace.”

The power armored soldiers would skillfully scan the area for threats before seeming to relax, though the action is strange in a full suit of power armor.

-

At home, the scouting report from Oregon confirms rumors of wildlife regrowth in the area. A contingent of armed personnel depart via Vertibird to secure an area just south of Washington’s borders, with settlers in tow to try and repopulate the area. . .
