Raomir 1855 Share Posted November 17, 2016 Posted within every Dwarven City or Hold. Many of you have heard of the struggle that took place within the Frostbeard Clan this past stone week. When it became apparent that the current Clan Father, Duren was merely there to hold the title and do little with it, I rose up to relieve him of such a difficult job he clearly found little pleasure in doing. Expecting little resistance, and perhaps a graceful thank you from Duren for replacing him in something he apparently did not want to have, I was met with fierce resistance. Lies, insults and even aggression was not uncommon from Duren and his fellowship of rogue Frostbeards who had strayed from the path of Kaz’Ulrah. Desperate to keep the peace within the Clan, I met with Duren to prevent Frostbeard blood from being shed. We agreed on a vote, which would be held to see which one of us was held in higher esteem by the Frostbeard Clan. After the vote was announced, it did not even last a full stone day before Duren realized I was favored over him. Anger overcame him and he quickly nullified the vote to keep himself as Clan father, and claimed that he held an Elder meeting which reached the conclusion to banish me. Such an unjustified move could not be ignored by myself. I had long propagated and upheld our generation old rule, that Frostbeard blood should not be spilt by Frostbeards. But Duren’s actions did not resemble that of a Frostbeard, but of a Hammerfist. I quickly left for Arcadia, inviting Duren to meet me there. In the company of the esteemed council of Arcadia I requested them to officiate an honor duel. As Duren arrived, I made my move and issued the challenge. Shaken, Duren stammered out a meek acceptance of my challenge. All four of us traveled to the Dwarven Capital where both Duren and I were supplied with armor and arms of equal quality. The stakes were high, if Duren won he kept the title of Clan Father and would banish me. If I won, I would take the title of Clan Father, alongside all of its benefits, and would be given the Clan’s artifacts, which were in Duren’s possession. As the terms were agreed upon, Duren’s supporters gathered. After the formalities were completed, the duel began. And just as quickly as it started, it finished - with Duren lying on the ground, with my blade to his neck. I relented and spared his life. As soon as I helped him up, a barrage of insults were unleashed upon me. To me it seemed that the Hammerfist in all those ‘Frostbeards’ came out, but perhaps I was just imagining things. Zahrer and Sharr proclaimed me the winner of the duel, and as such, the new Frostbeard Clan Father. The crowd slowly dispersed, and I led Duren back to the city where he produced the Clan Artifacts, and gave them to me. Despite the various broken rules by Duren and his supporters, I have decided to pardon them and offer them one last shot at redemption. I grant them Two Stone days to make contact and swear loyalty to me, the Clan Father of the Frostbeards. If they refuse or fail to do so in the time I have graciously allotted, they shall be banished from the Clan and cast out into the world to look for another Clan. ENGLISH VERSION V Spoiler "Honour is the most important thing to the dwedmar. Without it, a dwed is nothing. Here we had two dwed whose blades met for the seat of clan father. They both fought well from what I heard, but in an honour duel there can only be one winner. That isn't to say though that one must lose their honour with the duel. Duren hasn't lost his honour in my eyes. The transition of power has been peaceful and he can remain a proud. Yet, Kerwyr is now the leader of our great and venerable clan. He has lead us through troubled times before and he will again. Duren has had his time, as did I. It's time now for us to come together and support Kerwyr. We cannot let ourselves squabble any longer. So I beg of the supporters of Duren, either come forward and support our new clan father or part ways peacefully. Bloodshed among dwedmar is one of the gravest things that can be committed. We are all children of Yemekar and Anbella and I beseech you as I do them, let this transition of power be one of peace and blossom into a new era of prosperity for us all." Pancakehz 2279 Share Posted November 17, 2016 Word reaches Duren while on his vacation. He chuckles and quickly begins writing a letter home. "My dearest friend Kerwyr, I did after all honor the honor duel without hesitation. You claim to love Frostbeards yet you talk **** and slander to the public. You have before said that you will never raise blade against another Frostbeard. You used those words to gain the support of Dewlox. Yet here you claim to hesitate to spare me. Funny how your claims and promises fall apart when you aren't using them to snake people. However it is indisputable that you have won and I have done nothing but give you the title and artifacts as promised. Not with hate but with a show of undeniable peace. Yet I receive news that you slander me to everyone? A strange thing to do to someone you practically begged to stay and requested I convince my kinsmen to stay as well. If this job is so hard as you claim, allow me to alleviate some stress. Attached you should find many banishment notices that I have written for you, when I heard that it would be so hard for you, I decided to do my part and help out." [!] As mentioned in the letter notices are written for Duren, Dimlin Darek, Rorry, Khordaldrum, Azkel, Galdryn, and a few others. Also attached is a postcard from Haria. The painting would depict the group of black haired Dwarves with their thumbs up.
