Salted Winds

Darkness, and death. The two words that would come to one’s mind when their eyes would come across the shocking sight which lays nearby the coastal waters within the Sutican isle. Once where an overgrown and lively tree once proudly stood upon lush soil with wildlife aplenty, now is surrounded by sickly tainted earth and dried up plantation, decaying animal corpses littered the surrounding area as if they had tried to flee moments before succumbing to whatever caused their quick demise. The tree itself completely vacated of any forms of life and energy, the leaves that grew upon the now scorched branches either were blown away by the salted sea winds or decayed from the events that took place, and the seared hollow trunk sits silent as the winds cause an eerie whistle to be heard as it passes through the large cracks running down its sides.

Druids, and nature as a whole, would feel a mourning sensation as a surge of energy is dispelled among the natural realm. Those with a specific sapling would feel it become filled with more energy than prior, and whilst in the vicinity of it would feel an odd feeling as if another was present.

Oo'ri slowly approaches the tree and stares at it blankly. His eyes full of sorrow as he kneels down and closes his eyes, silently saying "You believed in mi...an eye will not fail you. Your deat' will not be in vain..."

Oo'ri looks up to the tree and begins to sing to the tree as tears fall down from his face.

Somewhere in the forests of the Dominion, a young girl practices swordplay with a wooden short sword. The blade is flawless, and on the pommel of it would be a perfectly formed rose made of the wood.

Three lives lost. Lilliana closed her eyes as she tries to stay calm and collected. Her wound still healing. Three. Yet this one hurt the worst. "Goodbye Uncle." she murmurs into the wind.

On a day like any other, Larry still wandering away from his Halflings, his bindle now significantly lighter due to the missing legs of ham and cooked delicacies that he had started his journey with.

Larry wandered through a large forest far from his home of Reedsborough, the pine trees towering above the small man making him feel enclosed and almost claustrophobic as he looked around. The former Elder waddled along what appeared to be a narrow and twisted path through the trees, the smoke from his pipe would leave a trail over his shoulder as he moved, the burning smell of pipeweed wafting upwards towards the Sky

Things couldn't be more peaceful for the Halfling, he had made friends on his journey and his Beaver made for excellent company as well as a tremendous firewood collector for the cold nights.

"Bucky, de ye ever wonder wha' i' would be like back a' 'ome, like, de ye ever ge' the urge te jus' 'ead 'ome?" he said, directing his question down to his rodent companion.

However, before Larry could receive an answer he felt a sudden sense of pain, a loss of a friend.

Word traveled fast through the forest, the news reaching the Halfling quite rapidly as he sat against one of the trees awaiting more information.

"'ow could this 'ave 'appened?" he almost sobbed out. "No' many other druids understoo' me 'umour. . I really am goin' te miss the big bugger fer tha'." he mumbled out as he looked through his bindle, still directing his attention to his Beaver friend, shortly after he pulled out a small journal. He then rubbed his finger on a bit of leftover charcoal from his pants before writing upon the page with his index finger.

The page read in messy writing:

"I will miss the bugger, his lack of control, his lack of care for his Elders and most of all I will miss the conversations we had and the times we shared together. Thank you for everything, I will see you again soon Toren, I am sure."

The short Halfling decided against that tree is where he will set up camp as the news had kept him from getting up, deciding it would be best to just reminisce rather than to carry on.

"Until nex' time, see'ye 'round Toren."
