OOC introduction

Hello there! Everybody is quite busy nowadays, and may not be able to get online and login at times, relying mostly on their phones to browse through the days forums while at work/school/outside.

Especially with something such as [School Roleplay], it takes quite of lot of time to convey the information and have dialogue with the student, so it inevitably drags on. Of course as it is based in the world, what is rped here can easily be translated into ingame roleplay, which might lead to ingame friendship that might otherwise have never happened due to timezone constraints!

So with that said, I have decided to try and do some forum roleplay instead!

Some rules of the school forum rp is set below:

  1. It is set in the City of Linandria (wood elf city). If you're a wanted criminal, you wouldn't be able to attend classes unless you disguised yourself or something. Orcs are banned.
  2. It revolves mainly about teaching, and a classroom environment. If a fight broke out here, it would be quite difficult to keep track of, and the forum rp would sort of lose its purpose.
  3. Most other races can join in, as long as they aren't stopped at the gates (IRP)!
  4. Try not to engage in one liners if possible, it stops the rp! Feel free to stack your emotes to do several or ask several things at once in a conscience manner, so we can all get along quickly :p
  5. Use pictures to describe yourself, be it a screenshot or one from the internet! Visual representation makes reading always more fun ^^
  6. Everything is possible to be taken ingame, even for those who dont directly participate in the forum roleplay. It is in a rather public setting, people can quite easily walk by and overhear something.

I hope everyone will have fun with this forum roleplay, I haven't done it in a while! And dont be afraid to hop in if you want! No applications required.

The city of Linandria, home for the mali'ame. With its tall canopies and gnarled roots, its a homage to nature and the mali'ames tenacity to co-exist with nature, worshiping the Aspects. Funnily enough, it was mostly the work of a mali'aheral Princess, by the name of Titania Hawksong, who even made it a possibility. Sunlight poured through the thick overhead, showering the forest floors with rays of sunlight, illuminating the buildings below. In one lonely corner of Linandria, pass the fountain on your right, stood a building filled with a sense of hollowness. Dust has accumulated on its counter, its shelves empty for decades, and stacks upon stacks of locked iron boxes where the famed treasure trove of knowledge laid sealed upon the floor; nobody had time to put them on the shelf.

It was a small library, a nameless library. In front of its facade stood a small statue,  a bronze elf wielding a spear. Its plaque carries the title [Phaedrus the Liberator]. Much less famous than his other tribute across the city, [Phaedrus's Forge], but still a tribute to the founder of the mali'ame society. A grove dedicated to the ex-Princess Elorna stood 10 feet away, with flowing rivers and a large Machurian Birch tree growing in its center, swaying in the gentle Linandrian breeze with its everlasting persian orange leaves rustling in the wind.

You decide to enter the unmaned library, glancing about as every step causes a loud groan from its floorboards. Not the most frequented space, you can imagine. Who would like to read the past when the future awaits them right around the corner? But still you trudge on, taking the stairwell until....

.... You blink at the surprisingly bright space. The sounds of running water fills your ears, and the smell of earth and leaves fill your nostril. /Slightly odd/. Water and books dont make the best combination. But the mali'ame are so obstinate in their naturist ways, perhaps even the mere mention of a home without a water feature and an indoor garden might be cause for offense. Some bookshelves are filled, but still rows upon rows of them remain covered in dust, waiting gloomily in the dark for their turn to be filled by the capricious librarian. As you wander  about, you begin to notice signs of life. A random book here and there on the floor, finger marks upon the shelves and covers, footsteps in the dirt.

It doesn't take long for your curiosity to be sated. A figure in a beige and midnight blue dress seems to be sitting cross legged in the middle of a small fortress of books, and non-books even. Containers of numerous scrolls are piled up in several pyramid, as the mali'aheral in the center of all this chaos seems to be deep in thought. Her slender figure seems to be pouring over a long scroll, bearing the seal of the Kingdom of Oren. /Kingdom of Oren? Isn't it the Holy Oren Empire?/. Well once upon a time, and in a time before that time, Oren was not what it was today. You scan over the other titles; all bearing their own marks and proud seals upon them. The Conclave. The History of Normandor. Tahn'Siol's development sketches. The Kingdom of Urguan's Treaty with the Holy Princedom of Malinor. Your eyes instinctively blink. The words start to get blurry. Its a lot of books.

The figure suddenly pauses, sensing your presence at last. She keeps the scroll in an unhurried manner, before swiveling her head towards you as she stares at you from below. Her sapphire eyes match her dress, collected and cool as she parts her lips to address you.

"I dont suppose you're here in response to my advertisement? You know. The one for mali history?"

A certain  hooded Doomforged strides into the library, his glowing bloodred gaze shifting about underneath the hood until finally landing on the Mali'aheral surrounded by books. He pulls back the hood, revealing the rugged features of a war-veteran, half of his face being covered in a terrible burn scar. His beard is well-kept for a Doomforged, rather short for a dwarf as well and without braids or jewelry. He would nod to her,  "Aye, ah am. Ah'd alsuh lioke tuh seh 'ef ye've got anehthin' on ah few... selec' 'istorehs. Nameleh t'e Doomforged an' ah place called Kal'Asgol." He says this as he flexes the fingers of his right arm, which just so happened to be made of stone and glowing a faint red in some of the cracks and runes inscribed upon it.  "Moi name's Demagol, boi t'e way."

((For reference, minus the sword :D))

Aenor would meander into the library, metal plates of his golden hued armour clanking against one another. He pauses, gaze panning over to the stairwell as the sound of faint voices fall upon his ears. A chuckle escapes his scarred lips, the weary elf pondering to himself for a few moments before he'd give a singular nod. Hands clasped behind his back, he would ascend the steps, pausing before the conversing duo as he reaches the top. His lips anchor into a faint frown as he spots the Doomforged, gaze flicking over the dwarf in scrutiny for but a few moments. His posture portrays that of a long-standing military man, stalwart and sure in his movements. He would stay silent, though offering Siri a brief, amiable smile, as not to interrupt the pair as they speak.

A faint smile emerges as she turns around to glance at her old card mate, setting her scroll aside. Her eyes shift over to Aenor, offering him a small nod in greetings, before turning her attention back to the coal-like dwarf standing before her.

"As if you ever need to say your name, I would recognize that gravelly voice anywhere, Mister Demagol."

She sets her scroll aside on the pile of others, stacking it neatly upon the pyramid. Her right hand gropes about the shelves, wriggling her fingers towards a few books.

"I personally specialize in elven history, but I can most certainly look for any records that the dwarves have made public. Why are you interested in this place in particular? Is this the first clan hall of the Doomforged?"

The elder Doomforged smiles, a strange sight these days, at recognizing his old friend, "Boi Dormmar's 'ammeh... 'et's been awhiole, Siri." He chuckles, noticing Aenor and offering him a short nod in greeting. He then looks back to Siri at her first question, rubbing his stone hand down his face.  "Kal'Asgol wus w'ere moi fatheh an' moi uncles, Iban, Yorri, an' Hodir, foun' our namesake. T'is alsuh w'ere t'ey made our firs' 'ome, aye. Why ah'm intrested 'en t'is..." She sighs lightly, pulling out several tomes from the shelves from her sitting position.

"There's a reason it has been a while. This is my last effort in maintaining my sanity, by losing myself in something that isn't depression."

She smiles weakly up at him, before opening up the heavy set tome.

"There's surprisingly little said about Kal'Asgol in particular, although it was referenced many times by one called as Dormin Doomforged. In his journal, he mentioned it in reference to trials happening in some ancient cave, as 'harsh and brutal, more related to what he had seen in Kal’Asgol, the ancient Dwarven traditions... These were darker, and perhaps much more demanding than even Asgolian trials.'. You can take a look at the book for yourself, if you want."

She passes the heavy set book over, her arms straining slightly from the weight and reach of her arms.

The Doomforged's thick brow furrows tightly at Siri, then nods in understanding, "Depression 'es nae ah easeh t'ing tuh ovehcome. 'Ef t'ere's anehthin' ah can duh tuh 'elp ye, jus' ask. He takes the heavy tome with his golem hand, holding it rather easily whilst flipping through the pages with his other hand. He smiles lightly at his cousin's name, "Dormin alwehs 'ad ah t'ing fer 'arsh an' brutal, 'e wus ah sadist. Per'aps 'ef Dormin wrote t'is t'en 'es prubleh go' 'et an' t'e res'..." He sighs, going to set the heavy tome back with the rest Siri had gotten down after noticing her weakness.

"Oh its quite alright, Mister Demagol. I've known that its hard for others to provide compassion and sympathy, goodness knows I've been turned away so often." She laughs harshly, nodding poignantly as he sets the heavy tome back down on his own. "What are you doing now? What are your goals?"

His brow furrows tighter at that, however he makes no comment to that. He nods at the latter grimly, "Ah wandeh. Mos' people ah knew 'ave moved on 'en t'eir lioves, or t'ey're dead. "Its just been trying. Work, love, life, for once I'm not succeeding in any of them." She sighs, closing the book neatly in her lap, a scowl forming upon her face. "Its been so hard, I'm trapped in this bird cage I made for myself. I've lost my sense of purpose. I'm just......... Not sure about anything anymore."

The Doomforged nods, lifting his runic golem arm up to gaze at the stone palm, "T'en ye nee' tuh find ah new purpose, Siri. Sittin' 'en t'is librareh, surroun'ed boi t'e past willnae give ye ah new future, onleh make ye relive t'e past." "Why does everyone think the past is worthless? I find that people who speak like that, dont actually know about the past to begin with." She crosses her arms across her chest, looking rather miffed. "Elven history has existed for over thousands of years, but I bet you dont even know the names of our High Princes and Princesses. If we dont learn from the past, what was the point of the sacrifice that they made for us, just so that we can repeat it? I'm doing a very important job here, and I dont need to hear that I'm useless again."
