A Pontifical Decree

Regarding the Invalidity of the new “Canonist Church”

Lords and Ladies, smallfolk and brave soldiers of the Empire; devout followers of the faith - recently, a division in the Church caused by the intervention of His Imperial Majesty, Philip I Frederick, has been made harshly aware to the High Pontiff Theodosius II. The ensuing schism saw the High Pontiff unlawfully and unrightfully deposed by a council of clergymen who have, up until this date, by majority never been recorded as true clergymen. "The Opposition" did not even have the decency of convening all elected clergypersons to this spurious council. Without so much as an invitation to this invalid council, the rightful word of GOD in Axios has been undermined.

Only humans have received this prophecy due to their boon after the defeat of Iblees; while other races received more worldly boons reflecting constitution or immortality, Canonists interpret the gift to ‘wander the seven skies’ as the ability to conduct in prophecy and be closest to God, particularly in the afterlife.” - A core principle of the Faith.

 

I ask you all- how is this respectful to GOD’s will? Will you follow a faith that allows the state to interfere so fully and wholly that the man who relays unto us, the descendants, the judgement of GOD, to be swatted aside when the time is deemed right by the Emperor? The same Emperor who, a mere day before the Pontiff’s removal, was excommunicated by the Pontiff in question? That is heresy.

 

Do we as a church wish to accept heathens and heretics into our order? Into our Empire- as fellow citizens? The new Pontiff will tell you, ‘Yes, of course! They are numbers to swell our ranks, to join our forces and further our Empire.’ The true Pontiff will say, “No! They are devils, and I would rather have nothing at my back than those who defy GOD’s law, who sin against His Holy Church and GOD’s will!” For we are primarily men of GOD. If the Empire is to one day fall from it’s great heights of power, then let us at least have our faith to bind us together in those dark times.

 

"The Ministry of GOD is not an instrument for the political endeavors of the lordships of any nation. It is, instead, a purely theological body which shall be subject to the will of no sovereign but the High Pontiff."  - An extract from the Dogma of the Church of the Canon.

 

We will not forget the Canonism past. We will not drop our beliefs and our laws when it suits us, for we are nothing then. Instead, should the true Pontiff, His Holiness Theodosius II be reinstated, we will crack down on the corruption that plagues our clergy; we will bring back those masses of the days long gone; we will part the State from the Church and make all as it should be- GOD reigning over man, the Pontiff to relay his message to the Emperor, and the Emperor to guide his people to root out heresy and treason and ensure GOD’s word is followed everywhere. We will have no quarrels with His Imperial Majesty, Philip I Frederick, if he is to accept that such is right and true- else, his excommunication is only proven and reinforced, and his character is truly defined as an unrepentant sinner. Let this be a chance, Your Imperial Majesty, to prove your faith and devotion- to the true Pontiff, not a bishop who has never, nor ever will, make any distinguishments or feats in the Church’s history, let us make this change for the better of man, GOD and the Empire.

 

And to the citizens of the Empire, be you noble, common folk or somewhere in between, I ask unto thee, what is it that you value more? Your allegiance to GOD, father and creator of all that lays before you - Aegis to Axios and beyond; or to Philip I Frederick, the Empire of a slice of Tahn?
