THE BATTLE OF THE NORTH-FORK

The Crast and Crumena, dated 1601.

The cathedral’s bell rang and called for a rally. The young, weary Crast stood in front of the group after the men had trained on the new grounds. He spoke bluntly but confidently, and informed the men of an upcoming assault on an undead camp. The line of bold soldiers advanced, Haskill the Blacksmith observing the group’s flanks.

The squadron stopped a distance from the campsite filled with Nargoshuk soldiers, goblin grunts and dead travellers, all raised from the dead. A left flank was ordered, Ludwig leading it alongside the Thersist

whereas the rest of the men bravely moved forward to meet the undead charge. Aurum clashed with steel, shields slammed against chests, and arrows scattered the area. A duo of goblins swarmed the young heir, Caius, and knocked him out cold, but he was swiftly avenged by Caerwyn, as the Azdrazi butchered the two and continued on his merciless killing spree. Crast and Reimond quickly dealt with the charging force on the ground, whereas Gotz and his infantry took the tower by the side of the road, skewering the goblin archers in half.

The left flank pushed through the low foliage. Concealed for just the precise moment before their crimson cloaks drew the ire of the gathered necrotic forces. It was too late for them. Aurum arrows whistled from the Yeoman Rupert on the right and Ser Rolien the Articulate on the left as a faltering force of the dead crashed and broke against the combined strength of Gansem Therist and Companion Ludwig. The flank pushed like a slow dagger deep into the turned camp of the Necrotics, splitting them. Yeoman Rupert fired arrow after arrow into the exposed backs of the Nargoshuk spear wall that combatted the main force, and Ser Rolien tossed explosive potions recklessly into the ranks of the dead. All this, whilst the Mongrel Braehn Elendil alone confronted a heavily fortified olog encampment battering himself against the foul beasts as Ludwig and Gansem marched forward into the shields of two armored and ancient warriors and a fearsome olog.

Blow after blow, the men of the Westerlands blocked and struck at the three beasts, aided in part by the Paladin Crumena and the men of the main assault. It came to a conclusion when, from the now sinned upon earth of the North-Fork an armored monstrosity struck out for single combat and was obliged by Companion Ludwig who felled it with but a scratch on his shoulder. When the mists of blood had fallen from the air, the men of the West regrouped and marched back to Bastion. Watchman Crast sluggishly trekked after the group, having had a short-lived yet important discussion with Crumena and Ludwig, briskly going back to the now taken over campsite, setting up flag poles and a proper garrison.

The body of Ig'blug the Immolator, an undead Lieutenant and captain of the camp lays slumped on the ground, its murky black blood pooling on the life-drained land. Another one of their leaders were slain, but there were more where that came from. ((im glad everyone is taking to the eventline so kindly <3))
