The Synod of 1606

The Ecclesiastical Synod meets with the city of Karlsburg during the Synod of 1603.

Within the office of the Cathedral of Carasca, the three members of the College of Cardinals arrived to meet. Alexander, A proud member of the true Church of the Canon, rises, speaking to the two other Cardinals present.   

           

“Following the death of High Pontiff Owyn II, it has fallen unto us to name his successor. He must receive a majority of the vote among the Synod, two votes out of three. The voting shall resume until one is chosen to rise to this great Holy Office. This council must now elect a true Pontiff to lead our Church in this time of schism, bring back to GOD’s glory those of the so called True Faith, and bring salvation to this most Holy Church.”   

           

The men would watch silently as Alexander returned to his seat, beginning their deliberation while placing their votes within the lock-box provided.

Alexander nods as he watches the duo both slide their votes in, a solemn look is clear on his features as he clutches the parchment and makes his way to the ballet box. A small prayer escapes his lips before allowing the ballot to slip into the box, bearing but one word.
