Issue revolving around character's name.

So I made a new character, the son of my past character Jacque de Felsen. I was thinking of a name to fit the character's personality, which was that of a happy and outgoing lad. After doing some research, I had decided upon the name Gaylord de Felsen. The name itself is an old English name which means "Outspoken, outgoing or joyful." It fits both my character's culture as well personality. Recently, I was contacted by staff and forced to change the name I had already been role-playing on the character for a few days. No one seemed to have an issue with the name until now. I'd like to be able to change my character's name back to his original name without getting in trouble, as it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking your time for reading this, and if you're a staff that could give feedback or resolve the issue that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks once again!

this is just ******* dumb. There's a kid at my school who's name is Gaylord. It's not an insult or a slur, and I'm an actual ****** so I think I'd know what is and isn't homophobic.

I think you should stop playing dumb/coy and expecting people to believe you really used the word gaylord straight from its old english source but I also think that the staff are overimposing themselves by censoring it, I mean come on kids say that **** in middle school.

Staff should stop censoring uncommon and old English words that sound similair to insults.

How niggardly of them.

I legit know of a town named Gaylord. Every July they celebrate Alpenfest which is actually a rather big thing. Has a parade, a beauty pageant, car show, marathon, craft show, and bands playing music.

Is Gaylord a silly name that makes children giggle? Sure, but it isn't offensive nor does it need to be censored.

If this is still an issue, it's something you should directly speak with a GM about.
