Spoiler

So turbulent are these times that a foot must be put down, so that a balance may finally form. This is my open letter to the people of Axios; legislation this will become despite my heavy heart and motivated by my righteous determination.

Unwise was I, admittedly, for signing to the Canonist League as it stood. I grip a nation that was so hotly embroiled in turmoil that I simply nodded towards those who came to me as brothers, but little did I know it was at the expense of a much larger political game. The biggest folly of my reign may be encaptured in my humble signature among the inflated titles I signed alongside, but I will not let such folly go without, at the very least, an attempt at amendment.

Lamenting is for those who deal in the past though, so let me look forward to the future of my nation. The most beautiful grace that earned God his most gorgeous epitaph, ‘the Creator’, I shall pursue also; all who praise the Creator, God, of humanity’s belief in the Seven Skies and our right to dwell therein, will henceforth not be meddled with. All who are decided Lotharingian, will receive my most elaborate defence.

Raised was I in the Canon, for in the Mountains of Lotharingia, Kaedreni upbringings call for such. But we lay now in a time where the church is determining itself, and I believe wholeheartedly that it is not a state’s decision to grip the laity and require of it any motion relating to faith; such things are an encroachment to God’s authority itself.

No longer will I make the mistakes of my forebears, and endanger any man who has dedicated his life to His service. Righteous motivation is what any strong state needs, and such, I will not discourage such further.

In one foolish stroke, the High Pontiff, the very voice of GOD has endangered his flock - by pitting two followers of our LORD at odds, he has endangered the very pillars and foundations upon which the unity and comradery of humanity resides.

So wild is it that reconciliation has only been a subject of jokes and jest among men of ‘Grace’ in these days. Arrogance is unbefitting of even heathens, nevermind the faithful. Thusly, it is in mine own interest, as well as the interest of every God-fearing subject of Lotharingia that we begin to obligate at least ourselves a righteous path in such a time of turmoil.

HIS ROYAL MAJESTY, Odo I d’Amaury, King of Lotharingia, Prince of Savoy and Metz, Archduke of Lorraine, Margrave of Kaedrin, Count of Amaury, Lord of the Goldfields, Defender of the Heartlanders and Warden of the South
