Have you read and agreed to the rules?: Absolutely.

What’s the rule you agree with the most?: Quoting the Rules section directly, " 1. To remember that roleplay isn’t about winning or losing, but about storytelling. Allow roleplay to flourish, and act as a builder of an overall story. " I thoroughly agree with this, and I think it's something more people need to realize.

Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense? (if so we can help clear it up!): No, you've made it abundantly clear. Thank you.

How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: From a friend who has been playing on LOTC for a bit now.

What is roleplaying?: Playing the character you have made, and how they would make their actions, not how you would make your own. Play the character, not yourself.

What is metagaming?: Acting on or using information that your character would have no knowledge of, or no way of realistically gaining at the time.

What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Attempting to force an action upon someone, such as instantly aiming to kill them or wound them with your weapon, rather than suggesting that your blade is slashing at their arm. Unfair roleplay, and not fun for both people.

 

 

 

Character’s name: Hallen Wanderr

Character’s sex: Male

Character’s race: Human, Farfolk

Character’s age: 21

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add three references to the server lore): (where does your character come from?; where have they traveled to?; what year were they born in? et cetera.) Born in the year 1596, Hallen descends from the Sultanate of Haria- but wasn't quite content with what it offered him. Being trained like a daughter quickly began to bore him, and even his studies under priests of the Church of Canon didn't quite interest him, even if he did believe. He quickly set out on the first ship he could find, heading towards Courland, where all the adventure happens nowadays. Traveling through the varied states and cities of Courland was certainly interesting, but even that couldn't sate his curiosity. He visited the libraries, the temples- anything he could find. But there was no knowledge that sated him. He began to wonder if there was any that could sate his lust for knowledge- and then he found her. He didn't even meet her. Just a wandering girl on the street- but she stole his mind. In that moment, Hallen realized that it was not a lust for knowledge he desired, but a lust to know people.

In the end, Hallen ended up venturing away from home at about the age of 15-16- he doesn't even quite remember which. But it was somewhere around there. He learned sailor speak, and curses, of course, but didn't lose his lust at the time. Nowadays, he simply looks- and wonders. Perhaps he'll settle down, if he can find some friends. But friends are few and far in between in a cruel land such at this. In the end, Hallen's simply a man with a dream; to know. Preferably all. And by all, I mean all people! Maybe even the High Priest. That'd be pretty neat.

Personality Traits: Extremely curious, friendly, loves talking to people and learning about them.

Ambitions: To be loved and appreciated by someone with the same amount of love for knowledge and adventure as him.

Strengths/Talents: Generally intelligent, trained as a daughter would be due to his unreal amount of brothers- being the ninth son, so they didn't really have a need for anymore warriors/lords. Very good hand eye coordination, and is mostly self sufficient- at least. In theory. That's what his books say.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: Weapon skills- can use a dagger decently, but that's about it. Additionally, fairly clumsy- at least with his legs.

Appearance: 6'1, tanned, coffee colored eyes, dark brown hair, simple, slightly worn clothes.
