Addressed to To His Imperial Majesty, Emperor John V. Frederick Philip Horen

12th of Snow's Maiden, 1615

As Grand King of the true Grand Kingdom of Urguan, I am not blind to the transgressions of our people in centuries past. It is no secret that our people have long feuded over countless reasons, some lost to both sides by the end of the bloodshed. For too long we have been at odds and I hope that you, along with myself, are willing to change this destructive pattern. In my eyes, you seem to be a man of great honor and respectability and for this I commend you. Your ancestors would be proud of your achievements in reuniting the Empire once more. Taking into account the aforementioned information, I would like to discuss the topic that haunts many of your minds, the destruction of your previous Empire.

My purpose for writing to you is rather simple. As you may recall, I had the pleasure of meeting you shortly before my victory in the Dwarven election and congratulated you on your recent accomplishments. If you also recall, I was in your presence when I received news that I had been granted the title of Grand King and you returned the same kindness unto myself. With this being said, I find it necessary to assure you that the Grand Kingdom of Urguan wishes for no conflict with the Empire. As Grand King, I can officially speak for the Grand Kingdom with the surety that I was unable to speak with previously.

The Grand Kingdom of Urguan wishes to extend its deepest condolences to your people for any pain caused in the destruction of your previous Empire. It is apparent that you are unlike our previous assessments of your former Emperors and thus we wish only for peace between our two great nations. Therefore, I officially extend my hand to you as Grand King. Let us not quarrel with one another, but instead seek to better the world of Axios through mutual gain.

It is a common misconception that our recent actions were intended to sway you to our side because we fear these rebellious Frostbeards. That is simply not the case. We do not fear them because we have no need to. Our reasons are that of the sincerest care for the lives of your people. Why should human blood be shed for the squabbles of Dwarves? Why should your people suffer through yet another war hardly a year after their reformation as a glorious empire? Now is the time for Oren to grow and prosper, not be dragged into a war that is not their own. Our request is not that you aid us against these Frostbeards, but instead remain neutral as Dwarves settle their disputes between themselves.

It is on this note that I close my letter to you. I hope to see you and your court at my coronation in the following stone day. May blessings be rained upon you and your house.

Signed,

His Royal Majesty, Gror Ireheart, Grand King of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan, Clan Lord of Clan Ireheart, and Protector of the Dwarves
