An Inquiry into a Possible Inconsistency in Druidic Lore

Hail, friends of Malinor.

No, this isn't a staff announcement. This is a statement on my personal confusion on an aspect  of Druid lore. What I mean to ask is this:

Why does raw natural power, the kind the Aspects are cool about, promote wild, unchecked growth in areas of nature exposed to this power?

A good example is Jaeden's thread, posted earlier:

https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/165713-as-animals-gathered/

In this thread, a portal forms, and that cool raw druid power comes pouring out of it, making the plant life around it go crazy and start to grow out of control(paraphrased). But why? Would this power not tend to work towards the fabled balancing of nature? If so, why does it act against that goal in promoting such a profound blast of growth? As we know, the balance is a delicate thing in druidic lore. It has to be constantly maintained because of the acts of the descendants and otherworldly powers that exert influence on the natural, physical world. Admittedly, it's a very small issue, hardly important at all compared to other major discrepancies in server lore that may need to be solved.

The question stands. I'd love for any person knowledgeable in druid lore to take a stab at this, and I'd achieve enlightenment  if there were some sort of discussion about it - that's how happy I'd be.

Thanks for reading!
Love,
Star

Jaeden's event is not an event that is a major one, all this event does is for the druids, It doesn't give us anything accept knowledge of the past. Its just a fun way for new druids to learn. :)  I think....?

Consider all the life that gets drastically removed and destroyed by the creation of endless cities? Don't you think the world needs a little wild growth to compensate?

Granted, the descendants(much like real  mankind) do destroy and overwhelm much of nature. But I'd think that this is offset by the work that druids themselves are doing all the time. There seems to be little rhyme or reason to the growth the magic supports - it seems to be just 'grow, grow, grow!'. If there were no druids around to enforce a balance more effectively, I could see your point, but the presence and work of the druids on Axios must  provide a bit of slack for the descendants to do their thing without nature rebelling.

Meh, I just think the amount of destruction far outweighs any help that the druids are offering to the realm. I believe that anything helps, even the wild uncontrolled nature magic. ESPECIALLY considering the number of full continents that have been obliterated in world-ending events.

one of like 200000000000

but to be fair an honest to god discussion i had with an old aegis-druid was 'hey could you add some clarification for what counts as corruption in this lore item?' 'no' 'w-what'

The mortal realm is littered with unnatural inconsistencies. Raw nature magic may be reverting places to what they should be. The imperfection of the mortal realm invites choatic elements from the entire spectrum of divinity. Such is life.

maybe its becuz the aspects as aengudaemons are in fact unnatural and the completely inconsequential things they supposedly represent are completely irrelevant to their nature and have no ultimate impact on their functionality and therefore raw druidic power is not a natural or realistic representation of actual "nature"-based power becuz aengudaemons suck

I like to imagine that, while a druid player may not frequently RP their druid out and doing important stuff, that they are  actually out and doing important stuff. Call it giving them the benefit of the doubt. I think that the druids are fulfilling their purpose of being the 'bridge between man and nature' well enough that raw nature magic shouldn't defy the idea of balancing nature.

That may be the case, but like I said above, I think the druids are out there fixing what they can whenever they can - if they're dedicated druids, that is. I can see some irresponsible druids not doing their work, but I imagine there's enough of it that the balance is fairly well-kept.

Get your dark-arts Xionists opinions off my perfectly PURE and GOOD thread

If that's actually the case, and the aspects are bullshitting the druids constantly, then that's something that might need a bit of clarification on. Or maybe not - it doesn't affect anybody to know otherwise since only the aspects would know. Still, from what's been established and practiced for years, you'd think that the aspects would try a little harder to fool everyone.

B- buh muh lore consistency

Honestly I don't think that 'spooky and unexplained' has much value if the idea conflicts with already established bits of the world. Sure, it's cool to not have a real explanation as to what the hell a soul tree does, or how shapeshifting actually works(correct me if I'm wrong, I don't believe shapeshifting was ever elaborated on in detail and I don't think it should be), but those pieces of lore work with what's already there. Wild, unchecked, unbalanced growth seems to go against the very idea of druidism and what the druids believe the aspects work towards.

There's no real way any amount of druids are going to catch up with 5 continents exploding unnaturally and warping the balance irretrievably. The only options are wild growth at this rate.
