Reese Duchannes & Theodore Faroe Fighting Back A Horde Of Skeletal Beings

The pair wandered along the streets, glancing at each other occasionally. Reese would simply offer a quick nod to the small opening within the thicket of the forest. They would both turn off the moonlit road, turning into the dense forest, there wasn't much of a noticeable path, instead there was simply less vegetation. The pair followed this 'trail' of sorts for a few moments before it lead to the side of a cliff. The cliff itself was quite the sight, it went up for many feet, the top barely visible within the moonlight. "She said the entrance was around here" Theo murmured, moving closer to the cliff, before he began to climb up the jagged rocks, Reese followed behind. The two climbed for a short while before a small ledge was found, the pair shambled up onto it, and peered down at the ground "...Wow.. higher then I thought" Theo would mumble out, glancing over to Reese with a nervous smile. The pair would gradually make their way along the ledge "That has to be it" Theo would nod quickly, his armored hand reaching up to point at the nearby cave opening, the pair scurried along, before plopping down in the entrance to the cave, their breath ragged and quick "W-well this has t-to be it" Reese would murmur out quietly, his eyes scanning the cave over quickly. The pair caught their breath before slowly venturing deeper into the cave "W-why does this woman even need this thing?" Reese questioned "Family heirloom or something?" Theo shrugged quickly. The two fumbled around the cave in the dark, before a soft glow from ahead came into their view, they'd continue forwards before wandering into the lit room. Within the 'room' was a single corpse, the walls were covered in a strange flesh like substance, however it almost looked to be breathing. The corpse was not that of descendant, at least not any descendant the pair knew of. Theo would glance over to Reese before taking a step forwards into the room, his boot squishing against the flesh of the room, though as soon as the mans armored made contact with the flesh it'd seem to darken in color, before suddenly the walls seemed to slowly peel forwards, as if it was rotting at increased speeds, soon the flesh was piled upon the floor, discolored and dead. "....O-oh.. okay" Reese would mumble leaning down to pick up a piece of the rotten flesh, tossing it into a handkerchief which he promptly stuffed into his coat. "Lets just get what we came for" Theo nodded to Reese, before they continued down the cave, the cave illuminated from some sort of strange blue glow, likely from a species of glow-worm. The pair continued down the dimly lit cave, before they entered yet another flesh filled cavern. Within the center would be a medium sized sarcophagus, with intricate designs running along the sides, and the top. Reese would take a step within the room, this time the flesh doesn't respond. Theo would move over to the sarcophagus "This must be where the family heirloom is." He'd nod quickly, moving to place his hands at the lower half of the top, before pushing it open, the lid falling to the ground with a loud thud. Within the sarcophagus would be a strange creature, covered in the same flesh that covered the walls, at the creatures side would be a sheathed bluesteel sword. Theo would reach down to nab the sword, pulling it free from the creature, though as the sword was removed the walls of the cave would begin to rot, falling off the walls in flakes. The flakes of rotten flesh would slowly move along the ground, slithering like a snake before a few lumps of it formed, the lumps of the flesh would continue to grow, before beginning to solidify into a skeletal beings of a sort. Reese's eyes would widen "T-theo.. we've got a problem" He'd murmur as he moved to withdraw his aurum blade, pointing it at the creatures as they slowly shambled forwards. Theo would glance back before placing the sword upon his back. He'd then withdraw his aurum war axe "..Lets do this" He'd growl out, as he charged forwards, slamming his axe into two of them, causing their bones to fall to the ground, where they slowly morphed back into flesh, and began to move towards each other again, likely to regrow. Reese would nod as he swung his sword at the creature closest to him, the creature crumbling to the ground, and doing the same as the others. "Run! While they're down" Theo would shout, as he moved to duck out of the cave, Reese following close behind him. The pair would soon land upon the ledge of the cliff. "**** this is high" Theo would mumble, his hands shaking slightly,  Reese would reach over and grasp onto Theo's shoulder, leading him along the ledge. "W-we just need to get down" Reese bobbed his head, as he began to climb down the cliff, Theo would sheath his axe before following behind him. The pair would soon reach the ground, Theo releasing a sigh of relief. "...All this for an heirloom?" Reese would sigh, rolling his eyes as he began to wander back out to the road, Theo would chuckle "Must be some heirloom" He'd comment, as the pair disappeared into the night once more, likely headed back to deliver the heirloom to the woman.
