If we indulge everyone's personal preferences about how each race and creature should be played we wouldn't have characters but rather a set of cookie cutter hard rail-roaded 'characters' with no room for development with everyone's behavior and thoughts decided for the players. Suxals 529 Share Posted January 14, 2018 Mh... i dont like the idea, we shouldnt we going out of our way to ruin the fun of others, if the frost witches want to rp some sort of weird relationship why not allow them? They already have things stopping them from it. I think if you start to limit every creature to be adapted to what you want for them instead of what they enjoy roleplaying then even less people would play them, as previously stated, you should have approached their playerbase before try to force something upon them with lore... finally i would like to add that this seems more like a debate than a lore submission. It's one of the key characteristics, and denying that would be downright lore-infringement. "However, Fjarriauga are as fickle as the chilly northern breeze and are just as likely to eat a man as they are to help him." This single line debunks the idea that the lore demands frost witches be mindless misandrists with no self-control. My character strongly hates men, but not all equally. Men who at least play along with her opinions and make themselves useful, my character /will/ think differently about them for it. However, if you even more strongly codify exactly how characters can possibly feel would take away that possibility in my personal opinion. The current lore, IMO, is perfectly fine. Not all frost witches are quite willing (in character) to be a frost witch, but were turned against their will. Your own screenshot says that explicitely. A known tactic of frost witches is to devour a married man and turn the grieving widow into a frost witch. Yes, she definitely wanted to join the creatures who ruined her life. She's heckin' jazzed about it. At the end of the day, people have never been cattle before. Frost witches are and were always people before turning. Why would turning to ice and craving man meat all the time in all the wrong ways strip away empathy and emotion? There's tons of examples of horrible monsters like vampires who don't want to hurt innocent people, but sometimes HAVE to for the sake of their own survival. Few humans enjoy the act of bolting a cow in the head so they can eat it later. It makes us uncomfortable to end something's life like that. That's why a lot of people are vegetarians, and others will only ever eat something that can be purchased in a form that doesn't look like the thing it was. They objectify it easier and consume it. I know I wouldn't be able to raise a pig from birth till butcher time, and eat that pig. **** I couldn't butcher it unless I absolutely had to. Like end of the world, either me or the pig, scenario. So, hopefully you understand how frost witches can have genuine relationships with men, as well as compassion and - remember they were people before - sexual compulsions just like any other living, breathing thing. My character has positive feelings for like three males, two of which aren't even flesh and blood. She tolerates some others and generally hates everyone else.
