"Gaze away from the dangling holy men - it is bad luck to behold such things."

Spoiler

On a beautiful sunny evening, Southerners rallied in the capital of Norland to defend against their common enemy. For each pagan present, there were three Haensemen who had arrived to rebuff the coming Renatian strike.

What a stench there was, coming from the clergy that hung from the bridge and walls of the settlement. Among the Canon men, a great discomfort rose before the battle.

Holed up in the small town, a grizzled southern Errant stood. Haughty, confident in his own strength by virtue of his service in the Yatl wastes, he took heart in acting his own champion in single combat, to give clamour of arms against the men that sought a fight.

Climbing over the battlements and retrieving his equipment, a smirk splayed upon his face, he readied to tussle against a Santegian. Sizing up this brown man, his confidence outshone his ability - a close battle ensued, but the brutal assault of his opponent saw him floored. Reserved for him was no mercy; lying upon his back, he was struck hard for the foolish errand he had taken up. So swift was his end that one might wonder if he had time for a silent prayer to his Creator.

So fell Hadrian Clovannus.

Al-Walid would be sharpening his sword when recalling back the event, "This man is most honorable. He was the only man of the Norlanders and their allies who truly fought. He was no coward, unlike the rest. This man died in honor."
