THE RENATIAN-MARNANTINE KNIGHTLY CENSUS OF 1660

 

“Knighthood is a sacred tradition among Renatian-Marnantine society. They are the very essence of what it is to be righteous, just, courageous, and honorful. They are the incarnation of the ideal Renatian man.”

TO ALL THE KNIGHTS OF THE REALM

 

As members of Renatian-Marnantine society are awarded entry to the sacred brotherhood of Knighthood, it becomes apparent that tabs will need to be kept upon all of them. With that in mind, His Majesty and the Grand Knight do not let deeds go by unnoticed. Those worthy are bestowed the title of Knight and as well awarded all the privileges that come along with that. For more detail, refer to the Intricacies of Renatian-Marnantine Knighthood document. As such, as the realm expands, so may the roster. Knights may pass for a number of reason; sacrifice on the field of battle, natural causes, or dishonorable discharge through removal of his spurs. Regardless of the reason, it is imperative that all Knights return this document to the Office of the Grand Knight immediately. This royal decree does also extend to the vassals of Renatus-Marna, some of which may have knights serving within their ranks. Many of their subordinates knighted for their deeds before their Lord swore to the Crown of Renatus-Marna. Henceforth, they are to adhere to the Intricacies of Renatian-Marnantine Knighthood document. Only His Majesty or the Knight Paramount have the authority to bestow knighthood upon any man. However, this does not mean that the knights serving under a given Lord are stripped of their knighthood. Rather, said Lord is forbidden from bestowing any other knighthoods and should defer any possible knightly candidates to His Majesty, the King or His Excellency, the Grand Knight. Additionally, said knights under recently vassalized Lords are to retain their knighthoods but are expected and mandated to read from Intricacies of Renatian-Marnantine Knighthood. They are to understand what values a knight truly stands for and the moral code by which he lives his life. And let it be known that any who violate these sacred tenets are liable to have their knighthood revoked and their spurs removed.

All knights are mandated to fill out the attached form and through either aviary or in person to the Office of the Grand Knight. The information will be cataloged and stowed from there. All those neglect this royal prerogative are liable to have their knighthood stripped.
