“Down with the men who wish to distrain my home and wish to wring their gauntlets in the blood of my own.”

Preamble

I, Geoffrey Rozier Brandt herein lay claim to the town of Belvitz and its adjacent territories, excluding that by which is claimed to be Ruskan and Reiter.

By name of my brother, Adelard; the one who was so dastardly stricken by impertinence on behalf of the Renatian crown. We will bow no longer, for the feats of man are ahead and no longer under your reign.

If you wish for the land of the former realm of Blackmarsh, then you ensue war: and to that we accept.

Signed, Geoffrey Rozier Brandt, Warden of Braband.

Adelard Brandt, Duke of Blackmarsh

Hans Torsten nods his head in approval

"Even their duchies and vassals are realizing the extensive corruption in the Renatian State and Canonist Church. Soon, their god will come to our aid as well."

William Rubens dining and conversing with his men

Candles flickered and illuminated the confines of Williams tent, casting the shadows of fierce Renatian soldiers against the backdrop. Williams' eyes were heavy and his muscles ached from the constant effort against the Norlandic people. The information which was about to be brought to him would only tire him more.

"This is Disastrous,"

William would exclaim, his brows arching downward and his lips curling into a sour frown, which painted an angry demeanor on his face.

"Now not only must we put down the
Norlandic pagans and the heathens in Haense, but we must now strike against men who once served with us, too."

The scene that was once filled with glee and celebration of recent victory had now turned gloomy, a vile taste of treason in the mouths of William and those who were present.

"Damn the Brandts then, let them fall too should they tarnish the good name of Renatus!"

said one of the Rubens bannermen who was present, and the others erupted into roars of an agreement, the scene returning to laughing and feasting once more. The men faced a long battle ahead of them and now they were given a renewed purpose; the destruction of Belvitz and its lordship.

"You were plotting against the crown since day one, you levied no soldiers and your streets were barren. This rebellion is a joke built on the foundations of a powerless man seeking to feed at the breast of the U.S.A. He will fall sooner or later for his ambitions are massive and his incompetence too great." states Antonius in his war camp, knowing full well of the Blackmarsh rebellion weeks before battle.

"No soldiers from Blackmarsh or peasants rallied to aid us in battle, not even their Duke. A disgrace."

“Well, obviously they didn’t rally for you if they were plotting to betray you.” comments a Varen’thal.
