New player looking for general information

Hey all,

I am brand new to LOTC. What I am wondering is, what forums should I read to get a general understanding of the world? I just don't want to read tons of forums and come out with lots  of knowdge I wouldn't have IC. It is much easier to RP you don't know something if you don't know it OOC. I plan on playing a Heartland male.

I recommend you start by reading a bit on the wiki. While the wiki is horribly outdated, it should give you a general idea of what LOTC has to offer.

 

To get to the wiki, click on the “Wiki” tab which you can find just underneath the big “Lord of the Craft” logo at the top

It can definitely be hard to get your bearings with the amount of lore and such that lotc has

As well as keeping an eye out for AT members such as myself, we’re always happy to help. 

 

There’s bits and pieces of lore all about, but what could be best is talking to people from human nations in roleplay, so you can grasp the different groups and cultures that the server has. The main ones are the Empire, Haense, Nordengrad, Adria, Curon and some other free build settlements scattered about

 

The wiki can also work, though can be quite difficult to navigate

The Roleplay Section and the Lore Section are your friends. All the race lore, world lore, creature lore, diety lore, magic lore and the outdated lore archives are under the Lore tab as you’d expect, while more up to date lore and current events can be found in the Roleplay Section such as different families/clans/whatever else of each race and their happenings, representations and members as well as festivals, politics and all other manners of stuff. If you have a hard time finding either of them at all you just need to click forums on the main tab of links at the top of the page, and scroll down to the top of the second section where the header says Atlas and you can find it all there. It’s all rather simple but if you have any more questions or want to join the Dwarven Master Race you can hit my discord at z3m0s#6599 I’m mostly around off times, or as said above chat with some AT or any other staff or friendly player. The new player discord would be a good thing to join also, have fun.
