*** You begin to hear a tolling bell from the Al'Khazar Cathedral, as you approach you hear a crier pronounce ill tidings. ***

"Hear ye, hear ye!

On this day, the 33rd of Malins Welcome, 1320, our Lord High Chancellor and High Priest has died at the age of 61. The Rt. Honourable His Eminence Everard Hightower died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by loved ones. Before his final breath his last words were, "Let me go to the house of the Father." He is survived by his two brothers: Raffus and Gabriel." In lieu of flowers the family respectfully asks that donations be sent to a worthwhile charity. This is indeed a sad day for Oren. May he rest in peace."

*After hearing this, Ben goes to Everard's grave and leaves a note. The note reads:

"It is a sad day when even one of the most holy men to ever walk Aegis dies. You shall be remembered by all of Aegis and welcomed in the after life by God. Farewell Everard Hightower, High priest of Oren"*

Everard was one of the first people I met when I first arrived in these lands and the first one to be genuinely generous with me. He will be dearly missed by me and our compatriots; One of the most efficient (and also odd) members of Oren nobility has fallen. It calms my heart to hear he went peacefully.

May God rest his soul.

*Robin Drake looks saddened at the news and quietly says a prayer for the departed.*

May his soul rest in peace as that is how he died and how he lived. A man of great virtue and graciousness. May the gods watch over his soul as he watched over many souls who were in need of council. As not all men are noble in trying times losing a man of such intellect, faith and good nature will be a sad day for the Kingdom. But there will always be hope as long as your teachings continue on and your lessons are remembered. May God save the King and may God protect the soul of Everard Hightower for now and always.

*Robin Drake raises his head and looks to sky as a few drops of rain hit his cheek, masking the tears."

"It is such a sad day that even the heavans weep for the loss of such a man." he says as he walks home.

*Malstar walks into the city cloaked and hears the bell, he walks to the church and hears the call

*He leaves behind a note written in shining blue ink on parchment in one of the books in the cathedral

May he rest in peace forever with the Almighty One. May he enjoy the world beyond and be there in his Father's Hall. May he not be troubled by Iblees and may his bones remain undisturbed. May his memory live with us forever.

"May he forgive me someday....."

*Malstar walks back out to the north gate

Freya sees Everard's grave, and sighs, sitting down on a nearby step.

She folds her robes underneath her legs, and rummages in her bag. She pulls out a piece of parchment, in a shade of deep crimson, the color of blood and fire, but also of life and passion.

She writes in a floral script, which is rather unusual for her. This must be important, indeed.

I am sorrowful to see one of Oren's last true and pure nobles pass away. These are truly dark times for the Oren Kingdom. Everard was a kind, generous, and fair Noble.

I hope his spirit finds the fire of our celebration to his life in that other place, the endless, bleak tundra of death.

I hope it keeps him company where the living may not step.

Farewell, Everard. We will remember you. Always.

With that, the final flick of her quill, she puts away her writing materials, and folds the scarlet paper into a flower.

Delicately, she places it next to the grave. She cusps her hands over the paper rose, and breathes deeply. Hesitantly, she moves her hands away, and a living rose has taken root, proudly brandishing itself against the huge, daunting world it has suddenly been brought into.

"May this flower symbolize your life. Proud, strong, keeping your head when everyone else was losing theirs. You fought bravely for your friends, family and allies, if not with steel, then with your words and actions. For that, i praise you. If only we had more like you.

But, alas, there is only one Everard. Farewell, friend. May you Bunga Bunga happily wherever you may be now."

A slight smile lights up her face as she walks slowly into the distance.

Cataris notices the Tombstone on his way past, he decides to lean against a post and jot down a quick note.

Everard, you were the only one to defend me in my time of need, i am forever grateful for everything you have done for me. You have tried to save my arse many a time, even though the attempts were unsuccessful, i am grateful, though i will regret being unable to help you from deaths grasp.

Farewell friend.

Cataris then throws the letter towards the grave, he turns and swiftly walks away, humming a grave hymn.

Jorgen prepares for the grave prayer.

Getreu dem schopfer. Getreu dem Auftrag. GETREU AEGIS!

Ohh creator. On this day you have deemed it fit for the retrievel of this noble soul. May his journey to your plane be without any interruptions. Let him sit at your table, and let him build on this world with you.

Grant your blessings on his family and let them be strong over this great loss.
