My take on the underground only idea.

First off, I would like to that I like the ideas about the city, and fully support them.

I do not, however, support the idea that dwarves should have to be underground for most of time. First off, I am a forest dwarf. If I was supposed to live in a cave all the time I'd be a cave dwarf. I do not think that it would be good for my dwarfs mental health to be underground all the time, and I know that he would not enjoy it either way.

Secondly, I am a druid. The Druids are based in Laurien. To do my druidic duties I would have to be out of Kal'Urguan and in Laurien for long periods of time. However, from what I heard if I do that then I will be fined. I do enjoy the dwarfs and do not want to be exiled, but it may lead to that.

I do hope that you guys revise your decision, because I feel that it is really unfair.

Agreed forest dwarves are weak even compared to the caves dwarf.... Go mountian dwaves we shall defend our homeland with or strong walls and axes

((Indeed. If you are not willing to abide by the laws imposed by the Dwarven Government, then you shall be exiled and will not be seen as one of your race. Of course, technically you will still be a Dwarf, but gaining acceptance amongst people that dislike your love for the outdoors will prove even more difficult.))

The dwarves of the Black Axe do na confer with the decision to hide in a hole in the ground our entire lives either. We live in the mountains, and tha mountains provide with many resources underground, but we do na dismiss the gifts the mountain gives us above ground either. It is all about moderation, and to stay yer entire life without seeing the stars will make ya greedy, self centered, and narrow minded; which is ta say weak. The Black Axe clan intends to live in the mountains, and be one with the mountain, inside and out. Saviticus, ye are always welcome to visit with us.

((I'm perfectly fine with the decision to make the Dwarves underground, but as far as I've seen, the lore of Aegis still includes Cave, Mountain, and Forrest Dwarves... and that only makes sense for the Cave Dwarves. I intend to stay in the mountains, and we will deal with any consequences of "exile" that the main Dwarf community decides upon))

OOC: I think it would be selfish of the leadership to make all settlements completely underground. Not only is that not true in typical lore, in LotC, only 1/3 of all dwarves truly stay underground. Why would forest dwarves be a subrace if they must be exiled to properly play their character?

(we are tying to go back to our roots when spimmpa first started our race. We want to live underground and be rich in that lore. Forest dwarves are pretty dumb when i first heard them but they can go live with the elves if they want. Black Axe guy just letting you know there might not be any donor plot giving out [MAYBE] so dont dis own your own race :P any dwarf living above ground without a passport is considered an exile. if you want to live above ground do so and live with humans or elves or even orcs lol racial tension are going to be a pain thing in LOTC2.0 be ready for a lot of racist remarks lol.

Cave dwarves- live in the capital but spend most of their time in the deep roads and mines

Mountain dwarves - warriors and live in the capital defending the dwarven race from what is above ground... and hidden below

Forest dwarves- live in forest but a re a small number most live on their own or with the elves.

((I'm not disowning my race. I'm telling you how my character feels about his own race and that he will not be living underground. If the leadership of Kal'Urguan decides to disown ME for that, that is their choice))

((and I don't want to take over this thread with this question, but perhaps direct me to a post or PM me about the no donor plot concept. I'd like to hear who's discussing this and why it is being discussed))

You may live above ground for all I care. I plan on having no housing or any town above ground. Im not going to no allow you in Kal Urguan if you live on mountains. But the Kingdom will have ONLY UNDERGROUND cities. This cracking down on the lore is to make races act more like they would, and help separate each race. This hopefully will bring racial tension, and trade.

That's cool. To me, dwarves don't just live underground, they live in mountains. Kal'Domhain has defences and towers above ground, but the primary living, commerce, and day to day activities take place in our hollowed out mountains. I don't know how you would classify that according to the new rules for the dwarves kingdom. If it needs to be rebuilt on a new map, it will have a similar design concept. I would think the RP if you considered us exiles would be fun, so it doesn't matter to me one way or the other. Plus, being an exile fits with the clan's lore, as I was exiled under The Mad King Charles rule anyways.

We will see Decks do remember the city is long away from even being built, not even an official set in stone plan yet, bhorner is working hard on that. No need to complain about anything that will not happen for how long is it? The first 1.9 pre release is out, but knowing Minecraft it will still be a month or two. Then it has to be built, stay calm, and enjoy Aegis as is today.

Bhorner, if that is in reference to me, then I must let you know that I don't understand what you are saying.

Willie,

I don't believe I was complaining or anything other than calm... My in character post was complaining, but everything I've said OOC is that I'm perfectly fine with this new direction that the Dwarves are taking.

Just putting my two cents out there about how my character and clan will fit into this new direction.

If it came off as anything other than that, then I'd have to say that was not my intention and that written words often are insufficient in conveying tone.
