Commend Alaion Miravaris for Okarir’tir

[!] Notices are handed out and pinned around Elcihi’thilln for all of the Blessed Citizenry to review, the neat papers displaying the following message:

“Dearest Citizenry of the Silver State of Haelun’or,

It is clear that the position of Okarir’tir is not to be taken lightly. The holder of such must be one of pure blood, mind and intentions, who can bear the burden of upkeeping all purity. It is to be held by a Mali’thill with high standards, that can uphold Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya in even the most difficult of situations. I believe that only one who has a drive to contribute to the state, with wishes to only further the progress of Mali’thill, can be tasked with such an essential placement.

Lliran, I shall not gloss over the truth. The current state of the Sillumiran is indeed not ideal; Haelun’or is constantly plagued with impurity and annoyances, caused in most part by unwanted visitors. Our silver gates are far too often left completely open to disgraceful outside interference and numerous intruders. This has led to not only the kidnapping of the Maheral, but even the death of one of our most pure citizens.

The Sillumiran itself has certainly fallen in standards: with a constantly changing leadership, it has slipped into a state of almost degeneracy. The Sillumiran, as originally run, was a group of anonymity. A force to safeguard Haelun’or, to defend Mali’thill, to protect Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya. Those in it did not reveal their identity, did not seek glory and renown for their actions. Instead, they silently took on the great burden of defending, and even shedding blood, for the wellbeing of Haelun’or and their kin. The Sillumiran of recent seem to be nothing similar to this. They wear our armour while showing their face, certainly something that they should not be proud of. They open the gates to any passerby, be they Valah, Bortu, Uruk or even Mali’ata and the Undead.

In practical terms other than moral, the standards have also slipped. Training has not  occured in elven weeks and though we have many new recruits they are mostly unorganised and untrained for the jobs they must undertake. We have accepted lessers and outsiders into the main force of the Sillumiran rather than as simply auxiliaries and rely far too heavily on our allies to come to our aid in times of need rather than having the ability to defend ourselves from simple threats. Such a situation is clearly unsatisfactory.

As Okarir’tir, I would hope to raise the standards of Haelun’or, to return us to a time where we prospered. I wish to reform the Sillumir to its previous standards and policies. I especially would like to implement a much stronger gatekeeping system, to avoid any further incidents and to protect the cleanliness and purity of elcihi’thilln. Too many times have we seen grimy, uneducated filth enter our city and dirty the pure air with their presence. A return to the systems of old should be greatly desired, where only the most worthy lessers might enter our city. To enter the Enclave should be an honour bestowed upon only very few individuals who do not follow Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya, solely those of the highest intellect and who bring something to contribute to the silver state, to further progress. I would also wish to further training and rigidity of the Sillumir. Such loyal ‘thill, making this sacrifice of their own welfare for that of others, should be further educated on how to serve and protect fully. The main force must be fully comprised of ‘thill, with a seperate auxiliary sector for those who are not of pure Mali‘thill blood. When on duty, the Sillumir shall be masked, to hide their identity. They should not speak their name to others while on duty to remain anonymous. This is of course for the best, as the blessed citizenry need not be burdened with the knowledge of whom it is that is enforcing the laws and regulations of Haelun’or and protecting them. Is that not the way that this institution was intended to be?

As one with knowledge of the current Sillumiran, with all its faults and flaws, I believe that I could amend the Sillumiran to far higher standards than that which they are currently held to. I hold experience in combat, strategy and tactics that I would certainly be able to put to greater use in the position of Okarir’tir. I would wish to involve myself in the making of further laws and regulations for the protection of our Citizenry in addition to upholding such principles. Many times in past have I willingly put my life on the line to protect the city and I would never hesitate to do so again. My loyalty to following Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya is unwavering and my goals are only that which leads to progress for the city. To further the future of Mali’thill, we must be far stricter on these potential threats to eliminate any chance of future catastrophe. In my belief, the first step for this would be to significantly increase the standard of gatekeeping. I am sure that you would all agree, the safety and wellbeing of the blessed citizenry is essential and of high priority.

I thank you all for reading this self-nomination. I do wish that it should spark further interest for progress and inform readers of the current situation, as well as the changes that need to be made. It would truly be an honour to serve the blessed citizenry as Okarir’tir and I hope that you would all support my aptness for this duty.”

Alaion believes that they just have quite similar ideas and he thinks that Darcassan would also make a good Okarir’tir. Alaion can also assure you he did not indeed steal Darcassan’s formatting, but stole someone else’s. (though he did indeed take some inspiration from that last bit)
