Or if you want to take a less-traditional amnesiac appraoch, be a violent murderer and rapist now as well as in the past. If you murdered and raped, basic psychological paradigm of criminology would suggest that you would be prone to re-offend, regardless of your amnesiac state (To suggest that you change your ways would be to follow a different paradigm view of things which is the one widely overused and explained in the post above). Then it would come as no surprise to see your past, and maybe even spur you to seek retribution, or complete some assassination contract you once held.

Alternatively, cling to the overused paradigm but invert it. Be good in the past and evil in the present. Though this is a less crafty and more blatantly a middle finger at society rather than my previous idea.

I like the good before and evil now approach. Then in character you can eventually find out that you were once good and you can make a choice on whether to redeem yourself and go back to your good ways or continue down the dark path. ORRRR you can add a super awesome twist where you mentally split in half and sometimes be good and sometimes be evil. Good/evil split personality. And then because you are weak you get random lost souls who don't know that they have to walk into the light and you look like a type of light so they bind with you and join in the party so you get even more personalities. BAsically gives you an excuse to do what ever the f#$% you want ^^
