The wind whipped across the Knight’s countenance as him and his small retinue of elite Dragon Knights marauded on the roads outside the outskirts of Ves, the so called “Golden City”. The day had not been for nought as they chalked up a large list of fallen Adrian soldiers and officers alike. Let’s head home! cheered one of the Knights jovially after thrusting his sword in to a nearby soldier, a mutual agreement was held across the rest of the Knight’s - but not Darius.

Oi, youse lot can go on wit’out me!” harked back Darius, for he had other ambitions in mind. Spurring on his horse he ventured deeper in to the principality’s heartlands. Arriving upon his destination he departed from his horse and stared up at the meagre walls of the settlement, hoisting himself up he was swiftly inside.

For entering the city discretely was an almost habitual trend for the Knight, looking for any opportunity to slay those who have wronged him in the past from when he resided within the Adrian-led town of Belvitz. Usually no real opportunity came about, other than killing a handful of unsuspecting guardsmen, but this time was different as across the courtyard he spotted a lone man strolling the battlements; it was the Prince of Ves - Alfred Myre.

Alfred Myre had already succumbed once to the Knight’s blade during the burning of Ves, and now another opportunity presented itself. Within a short time-frame Darius was among the battlements too and hurled himself towards the Prince as the distance closed - tackling him to the ground with a thud. The Prince squirmed and yelped out, “A DUEL, A DUEL!” hoping that the Knight had honour left within him.

No more words of exchange need be had, for the Knight released his grip on the Prince and rose from the ground with a smooth motion to unsheathe his blade. An expert of his trade, feeling absolute in his assured victory against the weak Prince.

Steel clashed for an initial blow overhead, the Prince already on the defensive. The old Knight had his helmet drawn down but beneath it was an everlasting smirk as he kept a flurry of blows aimed at the Prince who was just barely parrying or blocking each one, all the while retreating in his footing to the battlements edge. Alfred eventually found himself backed up against the edge of the battlement and in a second of fright to regain his footing, his blade was dislodged from his hand via a strike to the shoulder from the Dragon Knight’s prosthetic blade, and a metal boot collided with the side of his knee forcing him to the ground.

An exchange of words was had before the Knight thrusted his blade in to the neck of the Prince, violently twisting it to put an end to his life.

The Knight, no matter his age, once more shown that perhaps he cannot be bested. Another life has been claimed via his blade. With that, he journeyed back to his abode encompassed in the Imperial Heartlands. “Ave Godfrey.

Astrid grieves.

Amora wishes she wasn’t building at the time and could have happened upon the situation.

[[Neat post. Dunno why people are being cranky and pointing at Hunwald’s – there were two characters present and both have differing perspectives.]]

(( Because people like complaining – especially when it’s me. Thanks though!
