Can not /msg or /t players.

**Description**
I can not message any players with /msg or /t. It gives the following error except on extremely rare occasions.

I have tested this and other players seem to have no issues messaging people, not in their friends list, but when I attempt to. It does not work.

These are my friend settings:

It is even occurring when messaging friends at times.
 

 

**Date of occurrence**
Ever since the new system was put in place and /pm was removed.

**In game specifications**
It is consistent with all my personas.

**Steps to Reproduce**
1. Write /t or /msg
2. “You cannot message this player.”

**Expected Behavior**
I should be able to private message people, unless they have /friend settings message set to ‘not going to’ receive. Right now there are no people on the server I can reliably message.

**Actual Behavior**

“You cannot message this player.”

**Additional Information**

You have to type their full name now. dumb ik

Close this. Or better yet, fix it so you do not have to write full IGNs.

It’s a bit unfortunate that the new system can’t infer the remainder of a MCName provided from the proxy, I agree. Should’ve picked a 3 character MCName like I did...

You can still use tab-completion if you're on the same server node though. It works the same way except you can confirm it’s actually going to be sent to the right person.
