REPORT ON THE ABHORENT BEHAVIOUR OF CAER BANN INSIDE THE WALLS OF VES

 

To all of those who wish to employ the services of the Caer Bann, consider this first.

I write as a concerned Vesnian, who has observed their actions in person.

 

The men were originally brought into the city after the failed Drumm coup, under the excuse of being “temporary guards”, hired by Magistrate Hadrian Helton Helvetii,

now in the absence of the prince, Serene Prince-Procurate Helton.

One would assume guards exist to protect the city and its citizens, while the Caer Bann have done no such thing.

Their soliders have done been antagonizing anyone that tried to enter Ves, citizen or foreigner, regardless of their cooperation.

Spying and listening in on conversations of citizens under the guise of “protection”.

Executing their own sense of justice while completely ignoring the establishing laws of Ves, like refusing the right to a trial.

The men of Caer Bann have blocked off an entire section of the city, claiming “the gate is faulty” when it was fine less than a day ago.

Conducting full body pat downs on the citizens you’re supposed to protect seems like you’re doing a pretty awful job.

All they’ve done is apply increasingly tyrannical methods on the citizens, while using security as an excuse.

The only people truly hurt by their actions are not some evil attacking force outside the city but the citizens themselves.

These are the actions of prison guards abusing the prisoners, not the city guard hired to protect the people.

 

The Cear Bann are nothing but bandits in fancy armor, who have broken laws of the city they are supposed to protect.

 

And I ask you, If Drumm was punished and stripped of his titles because he was held responsible for the actions of two of his men who broke then law,

should the same process not apply to Serene Prince-Procurate Hadrian who brought these barbarians into Ves.

Or does this mean that in a high enough position of power you become safe from those same laws you demand the citizens obey.

Clearly he has displayed he is unable to do what is right without the Prince there to control him.

Instead of learning anything from the Drumm coup and calling for good reforms he decided that turning bandits on the citizens was the right move.

 

This will mostly likely fall on deaf ears and change nothing but,

I ask all of those who read this to remember this report, when you next have to deal with the Caer Bann or Hadrian Helton Helvetii.

A parchment is tacked in response,

 

“This couldn’t be farther from the truth. I will go over each point, though it may be hasty. Firstly, I do most of the gate watch in Ves, and I have done nothing but allow people to enter. All I require from them is small amounts of information to write in my log book.

 

Any listening done by the Caer Bann company was of suspected spies or extremely suspicious persons, to ensure nothing of treason is being plotted. Any laws we enforce are strictly done in alignment with the ‘Criminal Codices of The Golden City of Ves’,  the official laws of Ves. Anyone killed in Ves by the company was either a direct threat to the city, or one of the criminals connected with the Drumm Coup. No citizen or foreigner alike would be denied basic rights.

 

I have no say in the supposed ‘blocking of the city’ as I was not present for such event, if it even did occur.

 

Searches were done right after the second time the criminals came into the city, everyone in the company was on high alert and we wished to ensure nothing else would happen, no searches have been performed since, with the exception of extremely suspicious individuals.

 

There is no tyranny, no prisoners, and we are most definitely not bandits in any manner.

 

I would highly advise you to try and think of better excuses to slander a company and the man who hired them in the future, you only make yourself seem less credible. I in fact do recall I was on gate service when you started screaming insults at us at the top of your lungs, which made you seem crazy to be quite honest. However if you do have some actual concerns with things that are currently happening, please do not hesitate to speak with our higher ups.

 

Posting this publicly when none of these claims are true is borderline defamation, and make you seem like you are begging for attention, fabricating issues when there are none.

Why, last time I came to Ves to let people sample Puddlefoot's Pumpkin Pies, all the gate guards required was my name, race (if'n it wasn't immediately obvious), the reasons for me visit, and a complete and total search of me person. Was simple enough, and they were right friendly during the cavity search."
