Knights, castles, dragons, and kings--he heard stories both fantastical and idiotic. At night he’d dream of princesses to be rescued, and magical cups that granted eternal life! But dreams always come to an end, and he was dragged back to the mundane reality of his tribe. He needed to be a chief to his people, first and foremost. One day, while dividing bags of salvage and fish between bickering tribesmen, his eyes caught sight of a strange, yellowing piece of paper in one of the bags of collected refuse. Upon it was an image of a building... The image was faded and the old words were hard to make out, but it was clear to Duke that it was a castle! Or a palace! Or... something! Both? Could a palace also be a castle?! Grabbing a wise woman he shoved the old paper beneath her nose, and demanded her to read to him what it said. According to her, it was an invitation to ‘lovers of aquatic life’ to come and visit the Shedd Aquarium. After some elaboration about what ‘aquatic’ meant and what ‘aquariums’ were, Duke concluded that this was a sign. His whole body shook with excitement. He gathered his tribe together, and announced that they would be embarking on a great and noble quest into the ancient ruins of an extremely dangerous land of radioactive metal that they had been forbidden to approach in all their people’s memory. As you might expect, he and his tribe had a difference of opinion. After a recorded thirty-eight challenges to his status as chief (all bare-fisted combat, which Duke won), four attempts to poison him (giving him no more than a stomach ache), six attempts to spear him (two of which he caught mid-air), and one attempt to reason with him (which turned into another fist-fight), the tribe finally accepted that they would be entering the horrible city in the name of this ‘quest.’ But they wouldn’t be passing through the city itself-- oh no! That would take too long! They took their old fishing boats and converted them into hundreds of transport rafts. They paddled their way down the coast, past the ruined buildings, past the rotting docks, past the angry mutated creatures, and reached their destination... the disheveled Shedd Aquarium in all its ‘glory...’ it was a real fixer-upper! Duke looked as happy as a boy while gleefully sifting through the bones and broken glass for ancient relics. Now his tribe had settled around the aquarium, the question came as to what his people should quest for next... Character 1: Duke Duke “Duke” Junson, the duke of the barony. He is an adventurous soul, searching for the next great quest for his people. What that might be he is not yet sure, but he will no doubt be ready to throw himself against any dragons that may be encountered! Character 2: Wizzo “Ideas Man” Junson, shaman, knower of the old words, and brother of Duke. A spiritual adviser as well as the tribe’s foremost ‘knower of old things.’ He once managed to fix an old terminal before getting frightened and smashing it due to a prevalence of “evil green spirits.” Character 3: Brogwad “Featherhead” Junson, the tribe’s best hunter, and the best at using the ‘bangsticks.” He is a sneaky sort, and known to find things that other tribesmen mysteriously lose. The_Mad_Skylord 28 Share Posted September 1, 2019 Faction Name: Chicago Engineers Union Civilization Type: Civilised Faction Backstory: The CEU was founded before the bombs dropped, a Union for the representation of Engineers, Mechanics, Technicians and other such types, that eventually went on to represent Railwaymen, such as the men who built the tracks and ran the locomotives. The CEU survived the day the bombs dropped and the ensuing chaos, and spent most of the next centuries hunkered in the subways of Chicago, passing down their mechanical knowledge and skills from generation to generation. The CEU is governed by the Council of Engineers, with the Chief-Engineer currently being Francis O'Donovan. Francis, or Francy as his friends know him, harbors the ancient dream of all past Chicago Engineers Union members - the railroads must be restored! Cabbage 0 Share Posted September 2, 2019 Faction Name: Ronto Ratmen Civilization Type: Raiders Faction Backstory: The Ratking, born to a sizable raider clan in Ronto the man is no stranger to excessive violence and after an overhyped workout on a near lethal dosage of psycho he had come to the outstanding idea of just walking up to the raider boss and choking him out for his position. Everything was going to plan, the Ratking (at the time Ratprince) had gathered his boys and snuck outside the bosses den and it was time to make their move. Unfortunately for the now small squad of raiders the boss was ready and stood within his chambers with his closest underlings dawning some pretty rad spiked covered power armour. It seemed that during his psycho fueled iron pumping session the Ratking may have been talking to himself... well screaming really. That and the clan really didn't have a dedicated workout area so he just picked a spot on the side of the road and started lifting a hunk a concrete. But anyways fact was his plan was foiled and using his quick thinking abilities the Ratking had deduced his hands may not be large enough to wrap around the bosses now armoured throat. So with the most obvious choices out of the equation it was time to dip. Quickly the king yanked one of his boys in front of him to catch the hail of bullets that now riddled his gang giving him enough time to dive out a nearby window. And it was then the king had another plan sprout. He would leave Ronto behind gather some like minded raiders and head a new area and get back to regular business. So off he went, like a young bird leaving the nest the Ratking went westward. Their leader, Taoko Kazuo, settled Chicago and began creating chaos as his ancestors had done before. Their influence growing quite large by the end of Kazuo’s life before he was succeeded by Yoshinori. From there the ambitious gang leader would lead the Yakuza to their downfall, with territorial gains and prowess lost with every battle made. Thus the Yakuza have dwindled in recent years, but one star rises to be the sun of the gang today. His name is Taoko Noboru and while he’s hot headed, the man has still made something of himself. But he doesn’t dabble with the old ways, as instead of being a thoroughbred biker and taking part of the Bosozoku culture, he took an interest to the horrible mess of tin cans that are cars. Characters (Minimum 1, Max 5) Character 1 (Leader): Taoko Yoshinori A man who is barely winning to age. He’s been dubbed the foolish leader of the Yakuza because of his achievement of crippling the gang. Still he holds onto the leadership with all his might so that he may pass it off to his son. Character 2 (Custom): Taoko Noboru Son of Yoshinori and current sun of the Yakuza; he is the most respected of his peers despite his father’s reputation. Noboru made a name for himself by being one of the few to launch successful raids in recent years. Character 3 (Custom): Nishiguchi Shigeo The unrivaled mechanic of the Yakuza and a leader more respected than Yoshinori. However, Shigeo has deep loyalties to Yoshinori and that is the only reason he is not the current head of the gang. Shigeo is also viewed as a father-figure to Noboru. HyperionSibuna 1 Share Posted October 27, 2020 (edited) Application: (STARTING STATS WILL BE DETERMINED IN DISCORD DMS) Faction Name: Vukal’s Tribe Civilization Type: Tribal AF Faction Backstory: The Enclave in their infinite wisdom would begin testing the FEV on the wastelands inhabitants, specifically tests subjecting the deathclaw population. Dozens upon dozens of deathclaws were forcibly ripped away from their packs and families to undergo horrific testing by the sinister Enclave. Giving them cognative thought and reason, and as well as the ability to speak...however acting more like a parrot as they repeat simple words and phrases. A majority of them having the intelligence of an 8 year old child but some have been documented to show intelligence and reason of a human adult. Along with the inteligence they also showed ability to use tools and weapons. Along with the ability the craft basic and crude items, such as the previously mention tools and weapons. Luckily they were contained for the past ten years. However a breach occurred in one of their facilities in the New Mexico Area proved disastrously for the enclave. All of their personnel died within the facility The revolt was led by one of these modified Deathclaws...one that showed advance thought and reasoning. As well as the ability to form complete sentences and hold a conversation. After the subject escaped it set more than a couple dozen free into the wild, the survivors escaping the facility and forming a large pack. Enclave members began a massive manhunt of sorts of the deathclaws, catching and killing more than a dozen. However the leader who had named himself Vukal led the deathclaws in a sort of migration northwards, crossing the large empty plains of nuclear waste, and eventually settling in the Chicago area. Believe they would be far away from the Enclave hunting parties. Eventually reports have been heard of an organized deathclaw “tribe” inhabiting the former Mckrinley Park area. With many scouts sent in usually not making out...or even worse, spewing nonsense of talking deathclaws! However...this rumors may end up being true.
