    A number of Orenian envoys are dispatched to the Tripartite nations of Haelun’or, Irrinor, and Renalia bearing letters of credence and the seal of the Crown. Their charge is an officialized letter containing terms of peace directed to be received by Elven officials high and low.

TO THE RULERS OF THE ELVEN TRIPARTITE,

 

This war we fight began under false pretenses, and continues ever fickle and meaningless as innocent Man, Elf, mother, and child are ripped from their homes to be slaughtered most brutally. What reason have the Elves to fight for brigands, slavers, and those who butcher their own kind? The Empire defends Her sovereign borders; the Tripartite endeavors the same.

 

While brought to arms at one another against our wills, it is our mutual interest in peace and prosperity that may empower us to sheathe our blades. There is no conjuring of claims, appeals to metaphysical transgression, nor petty weregild that could sustain a conflict in which both sides desire peaceful coexistence. So what, then, is the point of this?

 

It was the prideful appetites of Godric, chasing coin for imagined slights, which began this war of many years. However, it is not his choice to sustain this brutality, control over his warriors long since sold to violence and chaos. Godric is helpless but to play along as his former men carry out blood sport against our children. It is no longer his war to end.

 

If we are to put an end to this madness, then it is solely up to ourselves to bring about peace as independent states. Only by disarming this terrible beast may it be defeated. Order will be returned; the mad slavers and participants in blood ritual will face justice and repelled forever more.

 

To facilitate stability and justice among our realms, the Holy Orenian Empire thus offers terms of peace to the members of the Elven Tripartite:

 

I.         An immediate cessation of hostilities shall be enforced between the Holy Orenian Empire and the member states of the Elven Tripartite.

II.        The Holy Orenian Empire and the member states of the Elven Tripartite shall enter a defensive alliance.

         A.            This defensive alliance shall not apply to the ongoing conflict between the Holy Orenian Empire and the Alliance of Independent States.

III.       The Holy Orenian Empire shall recognize and guarantee the independence of the member states of the Elven Tripartite against all foreign aggression.

IV.       The Holy Orenian Empire shall join the Elven Tripartite in enforcing a strict ban on the capture and harm of children.

         A.             The Holy Orenian Empire and the member states of the Elven Tripartite shall convene and discuss an international treaty on conduct during times of war.

V.        This treaty shall remain in effect in perpetuity.

          A.              In the case where one of the parties is found in violation of the pact, all articles remain in effect, under the condition that the offending party takes sincere diplomatic steps toward rectifying the situation.
