Overdue [PK]

It had been almost six decades since the Wisteria druid had embraced the company of others. Instead, imposing exile upon herself following her failure with the Dominion. She was never a leader; never one to lead the golden ages, nor to unite the elven peoples. Even during her years as Archdruid within the Order; that was not her destiny, she was not to bring prosperity as she had hoped to. She had wrought her own path of ruin; led astray by the emotions she thought herself invincible to.

The elf had come to migrate among the many forests, seas, and mountaintops that the realms had to offer; across worm-devoured ruins, flooded plains, blighted and plagued lands, and cratered thanhium cities. In pursuit of not only meaning, but repentance for the sins committed in her lifetime. She dedicated what divine gifts and life she had left to repairing any scar and disease upon the worlds she once called home. Perhaps her efforts were in vain - though this dedication was in the name of the gods, the friends, and the family she knew. On them, she swore this life and her next to this duty.

All the achievements, roles, and effort pursued throughout her life had come to no true enlightenment or finale; but perhaps that was what her destiny was. Not to elevate her own self, nor have her story read like fiction. Maybe there was no satisfying finale she had hoped for; neither a meaning to the time she spent. Instead, as it may be, she existed as an aide to the stories of others - to make their story intimate, real, and meaningful. This existence and this destiny, it was modest but conclusive enough for her.

As the years and decades went on, as the descendants were pushed from Atlas, and as history began to repeat itself upon Arcas, the druid worked. There were no others, no end in sight, and no wish to return to what once was. She had moved on. Her presence among the Order’s druidic connection would gradually fade with no answer; inconclusive, but final. What was irrevocable was that whether in the mortal realms, Eternal Forest, or her next life, she continued her dedication and her servitude; that was her destiny.

OOC:

As the title says, this is quite overdue. After not roleplaying properly since November of last year, I stubbornly stuck around until earlier this year hoping that something would change, and hoping that I’d regain the passion I once had for the server. But it never came, and eventually I drifted away.

But like with all things, I prefer at least some sort of closure, and I thought this was fitting. After over 11,000 hours or something ridiculous dedicated to this one persona, I thought that a PK would end it off nicely and solidify this decision.

I’m not doing any individual notes here, as each and every person on this community has contributed to it, and by proxy been an influence on my life. You all have a special and passionate drive and talent for something incredible - the creativity I’ve seen here is absolutely amazing. Every one of you are beautiful in your own rights, and even the people who either I have wronged or vice-versa; especially to those individuals, I’m sorry – at times I was horrible and immature, and I should have apologized at the time. Lingering on those negative emotions just aren’t worth it in the end; I’ve come to realize that.

So, to everyone, enjoy life and where it takes you - live in the moment with one eye on the future, and never let anyone tell you how to be. You’re always worth more than what can be put into words.

Cheers for the ride.

Kairn Ithelanen sat before his kinsman Dinlassel’an as more etchings were made into his flesh with a needle and ink. Although Renn was no ancestor, he would commit her story to his flesh for the duration of his life, just as his children would commit his to theirs. He bit down on the rag with agony as Dinlassel’an finished the hour-long process, a new marking adorning the side of the Elven Warlord’s neck.

Evar'tir Ithelanen pours one out for Renn, soon seeking out his fellow Ithelanen elders to get a similar funeral marking as Kairn did.

Hareven staggers whilst carrying his tools within the hidden Sister Grove, his breath hitching as he felt the druidess pass. A moment would pass before he'd begin gathering up his things, muttering a soft prayer to the Sister who blessed him with his body, before resuming his work.

Aiden, sat beneath a tree as his lips opened to release a sigh.. his eyes blinking as he felt the passing of a friend, lover, and fellow druid. A gentle huff exiting his nose as his form sunk further against the tree.. “May your journey in the next, be filled with warmth and love Renn..” He’d whisper “And may our novices be lead by your hand, even in the afterlife you accomplishments will live on.. and the stories will be told for centuries and beyond.”... He’d lift to his feet “Rest well.”

The Sequoia Druid would come to a stop near her soul tree, hands clenching as the wind rustled her reed-like hair. Sap tears formed and rolled down her cheeks as her violet eyes turned to her tree, walking over and placing her hand on it as it shifted, mournful creaks and groans coming from its massive form as her true vessel mourned the passing, her husk muttering the words of her soul.

"Goodbye, daughter...may the three welcome you to the Eternal Forest as they did me so long ago. Wander that wondrous place and delve into it's melodies and mysteries...and meet the friends passed long before us." she smiles gently and closes her eyes, wiping her tears away. "Blessed be...may you finally find peace and happiness..."
