An ancient Qua’req scans the under caverns of Magara’lin, in search of food and chitin for his kin and the Maehr.

Clan Origins

Long nomadic hunting gathers, before the first Qua’req ever joined the Maehr along their journey. These isolationist found discomfort within the halls of Malins Elven Empire. Seeking comfort in the vast forest. Away from their kin, these Mali roamed their forest.

Vax’le Qua’Req

Clan History

It was Vax’le Qua’Req that joined Velulaei and the Maehr. Bringing her nomadic kin to wander with the Maehr. Offering objects of trade, meat, pelts and knowledge of the land.  With the Maehr they roamed until they were as such of their kin. Vax’le learned along side the Maehr, spreading their teachings to the kin they brought upon the journey of Velulaei.

When the Maehr turned to madness within their hour of need, it was Luara that saved these Maehr, the Qua’Req as well. These nomadic hunters had bathed in the light of the ivory wolf. Their skin an ashen gray. Eyes turning blood red as the other Maehr. Which cooled to fine dark amethyst in time.  Though traces of ruby red would linger within the blood of these Mali’ker.

Magara’lin

Within the great halls of Magara’lin, Qua’Req spent their times within the dark tunnels. Hunting the bottom feeders, to supply their kin with the bounty of chitin and meats. Devoted to the will of Mother Moon, Qua’Req found comfort within the hunt to feed their kin.

This gave birth to the Qua’Req offering slight praise to Votar, Spirit of the Hunt. An admiration  of strength gave way to a second spirit being given praise, Leyd. The Spirit of physical strength. Though neither of these patron spirits would know the admiration as The Ivory Wolf.

When Azul and the other Azulites slaughtered the sleeping population of Magara’lin, The Qua’Req joined the Vindicators. Laying down their lives to help keep the Maehr safe from the heretics.

As all Mali’ker must , the Qua’Req return to their ways of yore. To dark sub-caverns. So flock these Mali’ker to New Magarah’lin.

Vax’le as depicted in recovered drawings.

Vax’le Qua’Req, within her lifetime was a devout Maehr, to the Mother Moon she would offer nightly offerings. Burnings of fine sage, the bottom feeders they hunted, fine jewels and crafts.

She was wrongfully slain during the Azulite heresy, killed attempting to bar the door to her clan hall. Giving a few of the Qua’Req a head start with her final cry. With her last breath, Vax’le cried out to awaken her kin. Who responded to the slaying of their matriarch with swift blades and arrows.

She would forever be remembered as the salvation of her clan, their connecting light to Velulaei’s teachings.

Gahla as depicted in recovered drawings

Gahla Qua’Req, would take the mantle of his clans leadership the same night Vax’le, his wife was slain. Feeling a personal vendetta, Gahla lead a charge into the streets of the Magarah’lin. Who ordered his kin to support the Vindicators and join their efforts to combat the Azulites attempt of genocide. When it came time to forsake their home, Gahla saw to it to bring his people to the lands beyond.

Gahla would never reach new lands with his kin, falling ill upon the ship's journey. Grief as believed by the rest of the clan is what drove the final nail in the coffin. His body was burnt upon the shores of new lands. The Qua’Req returned to their isolationist ways.  Knowing only a worship of the moons light and a veneration of their ancestors without the guidance of Vax’le or Gahla.

The Modern Area

Inara’s rebirth, rising from the ashes of his kin to honor his ancestors.

The Qua’Req returned to their ways of old within the halls of Vira’ker. Fleeing with many of the faithful Mali’ker during the Onyx Isolation. Inara Qua’Req took the mantle of Clan Leader. Devoting himself to his ancestors fully.

The great Ivory horn of the hunt are blown once more. A far different hunt is called across the Qua’Req. A hunt of the Azulites that slaughtered their ancestors. A call to serve the will of Luara and the Maehr.

Rite of Adoption

Adoption into the Qua’Req requires a display of strength. The adoptee is sent into a remote area of the lands. Given twenty arrows, a hunting knife, loaf of bread and a water skin.

During this, the Adoptee must find an animal of prey that is within its last cycle of life. A kill clean is required for the Adoptee to return to the Qua’Req. With proof of their kill. After such, the Adoptee is shown or asked to skin their prey, de-bone and prepare the meat.

Once the Adoptee has removed the internal organs of their kill, these must be used and re-purposed to be given to the clan for use. Once this task is complete, the Qua’Req travel atop a mountain beneath the moonlight. To declare a new member of their kin to the ivory Wolf herself.

Rite of Marriage

Qua’Req must reach an age of fifty before their hand be asked for marriage. Regardless of the gender, the Mali’ker attempting to marry the Qua’Req must be willing to become apart of them. Proving themselves first to the clan. Rather than directly attempting to court whom they wish, this Mali’ker must live within the clan for five years before they are allowed to ask another of marriage.

Before the marriage, a spar is ordered before the clan. Should the Mali’ker attempting to marry into the clan lose too quickly, or give a poor effort for the fight, they are barred from marriage. Until they prove themselves worthy in combat.

The Ivory Horn.

The Qua’Req adhere to a life of hunting. Taking only what they need from the land. It is said that within Magarah’in, Vax’le would blow a great ivory horn to rally her clan for the hunt. This horn, made of a rhino’s tusk, is a relic of the clan. The creation of such may only be done by the Clan Lead. Who must slay the Rhino themselves, and craft the new horn themselves.

The first Ivory Horns was said to be taken from draconic creatures of might. Long gone are the days of such great beast.  Legend speaks of the day, when a creature bearing ivory horns shall be spotted once more.
