Letter of Renunciation

Dearly beloved of the Church of the Canon,

Upon sworn affidavit of Bishop Krisztian of Ves, we have determined that the House of Staunton did plot our assassination. While the plan was suspended after our offer of coronation, we cannot proceed in legitimizing such vicious impiety.

On the advice of the College of Cardinals, the Lord Regent of Haense, and the Governor-General of Curon, we will not coronate any member of the House of Staunton, and we forbid all clergymen from the same.

Veritas dei vincit,

High Pontiff James II

"To His Holiness,

We haven't ordered any assassination of your Bishop although I wish we had done it because his conduct in his lifetime hasn't been worthy of being a servant of the almighty GOD; that's why he was charged with many criminal offenses in a trial held within the Holy Orenian Empire after all.

((I seriously don't know what logs are you talking about and I feel that they are probably out of context or manipulated using Photoshop))

- Signed: Tobias Staunton"

Tobias would then lay on his bed and close his eyes forever.

“How can this Bishop Krisztian of Ves know of any plots in Courland when he has never taken his foot inside our city? None of us have ever talked to this man, nor have there been any assassination planned. Courland loves the church, though my son Tobias is a bit odd it will not be him that shall rule.” Elissa Staunton said, shaking her head at the false accussations having been made at her country.

A letter is sent in response to the Pontificate from the Office of the Governor-General.

Your Holiness,

It brings our people great relief to see your wisdom and courage in rectifying this, and we are heartbroken to hear news of this plot on your life.

Please, know that the Curonian people send you goodwill and are excited to continue with the many collaborations we have planned with the church.

Godspeed,

Sylvester Vi Gabriel Halcourt

Governor-General of Curon
