Third From The Silver Wordsmith

Of the most gracious & rebellious

2020-10-03_20.12.51.png

The Inferi

The day came when we had to travel from the safety of our walls to the city of our cousins, Aegrothond.
Many of us amongst other races stood against the evil beings we call Inferi. Demons that are on a mission taking over Arcas. World domination.

Many cities have been lost and many brave soldiers have fallen defending what is their own.
Defending their homes.

Unfortunately not a lot is known of the Inferi nor do we know for sure what their goal in the end is. But what we do know, is that they are up to no good and are a threat to every descendant.

As a formal warning from the staff of The Silver Wordsmith, we urge all Mali’thill to remain within the protection of the Silver Walls. If you are obligated to leave the walls we advise you inform a friend, family member or someone otherwise relevant the details of your journey, destination, names of people you are meeting and so on.

The Interview of a concerned citizen

The Inferi were not successful taking over the Crown of Elvenesse, city of Aegrothond. The crown remains strong, standing against the evil lingering within these realms of ours.

But the help of what? I do not hear of Azdromoth involving itself in defending this city nor did dragonic wards prevent the evil from stepping a foot in their city. With the help of other descendants, the demons were kept at bay.

Is there evidence that the dragon kin will help us? Is there evidence that the Inferi will even bother to travel across Arcas all this way north to Haelun’or?

There is no. There is zero evidence of this.

We have only achieved impurity during our pact with the titan, Mali’thill disowning Larihei. Mali’thill altering their blessed bodies in the name of “Greater Purity”.

Let me say this once, there is no greater purity than what her Blessed self has given us, for she has suffered more than any of us can ever comprehend. Larihei.

Forsake the dragonic beings that corrupt the minds of our children, our councillors and even our loved ones. Forsake the titan that demands that we forsake Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya and bow to a lesser.

Forsake impurity. Welcome purity.

The Silver Tavern of Haelun’or

A place of joy for almost, if not every citizen inhabiting the gracious walls of Silver, the Silver Tavern. A tavern not once lost when escaping from the realms.

Destroyed by the September Prince back in Atlas, but was then place for every socialite to gather on many occasions a day back in Fi’halen. Reconstructed by the ever so competent Laurir Uppori Visaj and now run by the Mali liked by everyone, Aestenia Aevaris.

It is always the very keepers of our taverns that stay within the hearts of our people. Not elokariran, not ellauriran, not even elsohaeran. The innkeepers.

The current tavern welcomes all citizens and non-citizens alike to come together over a celebratory drink, to put disagreements aside, enjoy the warm environment and good music.

The Tavernkeeper is the highest figure of the tavern, running all the daily operations and ensuring everything goes smooth. That would be Miss Aestenia Aevaris.

Under her work many employees whom are tasked with many things by the Tavernkeeper.

Not only does the Silver Tavern offer food and beverages beyond anything else, but all citizens are welcome to host their own private events under the discretion of the Innkeeper. Public events however, require approval from the Okarir’hiylun.

I urge all citizens to head to the tavern and enjoy their magnificent offerings.

Vesryn peers over the newspaper while drawing up designs for new armor plating, his current suit still warped and burned beyond proper use by the demonic acid and debris atop Aegrothond’s cliffsides. The Herald of Azdromoth let off a quiet, hollow chuckle, ”Bold assumptions.” He remarked, glancing up to peer about the square and then to the tavern, giving an appreciative nod to the establishment upon reading the second section.

Yet again, to the one who hides behind a title.

I have come to sense within myself an accumulation of all kinds of pity toward your writing that cannot find adequate expression via an object written form such as a letter of response. A bard or lyricist of many years less experience or skill, like yourself, may manage it well, but I am not of such an intoxicatingly young age that I can use inexperience and naivete as a pointed form of expression.

Many of my peers express a disbelief that such a letter could already be published by somebody indebted to our protection. But this, beyond doubt, is the response of one person attempting to deride the protections of many. The rest of your peers steel themselves with a determination to press ahead loyally against the infernal horde, but you continue to write to dismiss your tools of protection as inadequate. The emphasis of this response must be a stern and paternal explication; if this were to happen in any other form, I fear somebody as dispossessed as yourself would ignore it. I will resort to responding in a shorter, more curt form with words of significantly less letters. And that is quite different to how the eloquent admirees of your fellow citizens are addressed.

This antinomy rests with the assumption that the Azdrazi themselves are, from the outside, devoid of assisting the people of the realm. It is false, indeed, to assume that they would do so visibly; to imagine a grand draconic form peddling among men of flesh would strike a terrifying paradox of fear to those they are attempting to aid. It is perhaps only natural that this type of panic and fear is resolved by the Azdrazi assuming the body and form of other races, free from the interference of some primal fear among their brothers-in-arms. In this language of the flesh, much as one might learn a foreign language as much as to be assimilated with the natives, we work among most nations to keep the maws of the inferi at bay.

There are no grounds for doubting that the draconic wards of the sky of Haelun’or are not protecting the Silver City. It is a blessing of flame and steel conferred by Azdromoth that has blessed Haelun’or with a lack of the burden of any infernal presence; to claim that the wards in the sky of Haelun’or did little to protect the skies of Sirame is.. Tragic fact? In your swaying blue sky, Azdromoth’s wards with wings outstretched, alternately sweeping down and soaring upwards to protect the gates of Haelun’or, do not extend beyond the bounds of Haelun’or. You have a morbidly blind faith in these wards protecting your home to extend themselves across entire continents, slaking their own binding to protect Haelun’or to traverse the known world for the protection of some unrelated settlement, only drawn kindred to Haelun’or by the shared threat of the infernal. The domain of these wards are the domains of the Silver State, and that is why it remains untouched. Resolve your concept of geography and extend your scope of understanding; if you were to post a guard outside your own house and another home in some foreign, far-distant land, is robbed from, is your own guard at fault? Your fallacious arguments and concern of people bowing to a “lesser”, as you so call the great titan, represents a narcissism and spiritual sloth that can neither be forgiven nor learnt from.

The titan remains finespun and impartial, protecting those who has agreed to protect. A hostility towards somebody working for your protection is only a rebellion against the spirit of the age.

An ironic sobriquet implying some skilled use of words will lend you no favours as you attempt to scorn your own allies. Put down your poorly-used quill, face the titan and talk plainly. The tedium of your childishly written complaints does little but stir confusion.

Azdromoth protects Haelun’or. Haelun’or remains protected. If he were to extend his reach I have no doubt you would call him a tyrant.

Shut up, *****.

Eluitholnear,

Inquisitor Eternal

The Father has me wait... The Father will have me wait... Father, O Father... Where is flame? Tell me now where is flame?...”

So murmured a curious figure, cradling its robed form, twinkling eyes peering to the moon. Gamling waited.

Keledan read the pamphlet with a discontented sneer on his face. He set it neatly aside before grumbling aloud to himself and those nearby.

”Another letter full of embarrassing conjecture and misguided disdain. The author covets a reputation of shoddy journalism and agenda-setting. For shame. Where were Aegrothond’s wards? They cannot be serious. Where is my feature article, author mine? The one I did not ask for nor deserve. Where is it, I wonder?”

Maenor would pick up the newspaper which was standing so neatly in front of his apartment door, placing it atop a couple of empty books he would carry with him towards the Library to begin working. There, he would go down to the lowest level, settling comfortably in the lounge while heating his morning tea. Afterwards, Maenor would pick up the newspaper and would start to read it carefully, chuckling from time to time, seemingly amused by what he was reading. After finishing reading, he would place it down and sip from his tea, satisfied, nodding in appreciation to whoever wrote the newspaper. Then, he would prepare to throw it away and begin his work, expelling it from his mind also, for despite its boldness, the newspaper told him very little of what he did not know already.
