Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska 3326 Share Posted December 9, 2020 VE KRAWN ASRANDZ I JUROVAREZ THE CROWN ASSOCIATION OF JURISTS 10th of Joma and Umund, 350 ES _____________________________________________________________________ The Crown Association of Jurists, known in New Marian as ve Krawn Asrandz i Jurovarez, was established by then High Justiciar Lauritz Christiansen in 350 ES. It’s primary objective is to maintain the standard of jurists within the Kingdom of Haense. It is responsible for maintaining a roster of jurists, establishing consensus on the price of jurist fees, ensuring proper conduct from jurists, collaborating with the Royal Academy on the Law Degree, as well as many other duties. The Association meets regularly to discuss its own affairs, the affairs of Jurists within the Kingdom, as well as the legal affairs of the Kingdom itself. The Association also holds regular leisure activities, so that it not only is an association of jurists, but an association of friends. _____________________________________________________________________ Structure of the Association High Justiciar - Vasriciar The High Justiciar is, de jure, the Chairman of the Association. Though they may in practice assign an assistant to the general oversight and management of the Association, the High Justiciar remains the ultimate authority within it. Additionally, they are the medium of communication between the Association and the Crown, as well as all other institutions of the Kingdom. The current High Justiciar is: His Excellency, Matyas Baruch Royal Jurists - Krawn Jurovarez The Royal Jurists are the most experienced and competent Jurists of the Realm. They are appointed at the discretion of the High Justiciar, and are tasked with representing the Crown in criminal trials. Royal Jurists are usually chosen from among Civil Jurists that have proven themselves capable in civil trials. The current roster of Royal Jurists is: Eleanora Mannox Lauritz Christiansen Ailred Barclay Civil Jurists - Osoba Jurovarez The Civil Jurists are the backbone of the Association. The Civil Jurists are those who have studied and received a Law Degree from the Royal Academy, and are thus qualified to both prosecute and defend in civil trials, as well as defend in criminal trials. The current roster of Civil Jurists is: Charlotte Baruch Students of Law - Uczenz i Jura The Students of Law are the future of the Association. They are aspiring jurists currently working their way through the Law Degree Program. They are invited to meetings of the Association as observers and guests of their mentors. The final goal of a student is to earn the Velskir Joedensvasr, J.V. (Reader of Law). The current Students of Law are: Analiesa de Astrea Sergei Harold Arthas Edvardsson-Ruric Quentin Brae Methas _____________________________________________________________________ The Law Degree Program There are three steps to the Law Degree Program once a student has been enrolled. Classes, mentorship, and the examination, shall comprise the required components of the program and will be completed in that respective order, though classes and mentorship often tend to overlap with one another. Classes Students will attend various law classes at the Royal Academy, in which they will learn about various different aspects of the law. These classes will consist of various parts, such as learning and understanding the law itself, mock trials, and how to gather evidence for a trial. These classes are usually taught by current Jurists, even sometimes the High Justiciar themselves. Mentorship Students of law will be assigned a mentor among the current Jurists of the Kingdom. This mentor will be tasked with educating the student on the day-to-day life of a Jurist, as well as answering any questions that the student may have about law. They are also tasked with bringing the student to meetings of the Association. The Examination The Examination is the final step of the Law Degree Program. For it, the student must use all of their prior knowledge for a grand mock trial, presided by the Jovenaar of Haense themselves. The student must gather evidence, and prosecute (or defend) in the trial. This is to prove the competency of the student.
