Teeth gritted, her breaths ragged as swelled eyes viewed the missive; rendering time to a standstill. 

He was supposed to return home, this thought came with a incomprehensible noise from Eavan's sealed lips, one of evident grief as her heart began to sink.

She hadn't known how many times she read the letter as the intense beating within her chest fell to deaf ears and her stomach rised to her throat, exposing a choked cry; The widow felt like she could vomit.

Her thoughts, albeit consumed in the unmistakable tolls of mourning, was quelled only momentarily with a realization - one brought by the small hands of a child that tugged at her sleeve in a plea for attention.

"Mommy is coming,"  Eavan managed in a shaky whisper, folding and safely tucking away the paper before rising from her seat at last.

Rest well, comrade." Gregory signed the cross, as he remembered the first time he met Jackson in the recruitment office. He smiled fondly knowing that he would most likely be sitting in the Seven Skies.

Friedrich finally set his dead old brother in arms down on the table after fireman carrying him to the morgue from near Odistadt. He looked over the dead man as he waited for the Surgeon General to arrive. The stab wound of a claymore stuck out to him, something atypical for the weapon yet the strike landed and swiftly ended the man. Jackson's last request to find his kid stuck in Friedrich's head as mumbled to something to him as he waited. "Rest well Brother."

A wave of sadness washed over Ellisar as he heard the news of Lt. Porter's passing. A fine officer and a good man lost, but a brave and glorious end. He'd hope Jackson had found peace.
