An Invitation to Musin

A letter is sent all throughout Almaris, posted up on notice boards in the far corners of the world, in taverns, in hideaways, near jails, near farming villages. It is circulated as far as it can go, in hopes of reaching Its intended audience.

Quote

As dictated by Daimyo Toast,

I Toast know we as a Musin have gone through troubling times, full of strife and danger. The loss of Crumlin Keep, the discovery of descendants, the deaths of so many Musin, the return of the Ratiki,  and now as we meander aimlessly in search of purpose and unity the decay of our people and our customs we dwindle in number and motivation.

However there is hope for our future, a safe future where we can be taken more seriously in the eyes of descendants, I have labored most of my life and fought to prove the worth of Musin by my hands rampaging Ratiki, sieging fish people, and beasts of mangled flesh and pestilence have been laid low in defense of Musin and descendant kind.

In my travels I have fought, kicked, scratched, and scraped up all I could manage in pursuit of a brighter future for Musin and I know that if I could find my people a chance to start anew and to be something more I would do anything for it. To my name I have cobbled together a small fortune and I have traded it for land, not for me but for Musinkind.

It is with glee that I announce that as of today Musin have been given full rights and citizenship within Yong Ping and will be able to pursue their dreams and aspirations unimpeded within the city, govern their laws autonomously, and have a representative on the ministry council of Yong Ping.  While we are constructing a Musin village on Yong Ping land it is my intention to lead the construction efforts and serve as daimyo until such time as the village is complete and It’s first mayoral election has taken place. I recognize that to elevate Musin I must give what I can and step aside, I want no power, I want no fame, I want no glory, I want only the salvation of my people.

Sincerely, Toast.

Thyme’s tail twitched with annoyance. The clockmaker paced around, boot heels clunking against the rickety wooden floorboards of his home, neck slumped over as he examined the letter again and again. He reached the singular window in his home, which he unlatched and flung open. Staring out of it into The Mousehole square, he released a long, exasperated sigh.

“Maybe it is time to move on.”

The small musin known as basil would read over this paper, his little ear flicking as a bright smile came to his little fluffy face "oh yes yes this is very good, good job friend friend" the musin would then stuff the paper away in his little satchel to continue his travels

Parcel read over the notice as he took his morning mushroom tea. He was not exactly sure how to take such news.

He looked out his window, just barely able to see the Mousehole through the glass shards dirtied in weeks of neglect. The chair beneath him creaked and wobbled as he rose from it, the rusted nails holding rotting wood together as best as it could.

The Musin walked outside and let out a sigh. The Mousehole had been his home since Crumlin Keep, and it was where he felt most comfortable since. Still, Parcel knew nothing could last in perpetuity. He looked back at the paper and thought that there “Ain’t no harm in givin’ this Yong Ping a once-over, I reckon.

With that, he went back inside to prepare for the journey, waiting until he was sure before packing up his books and workshop

Tianrui Ren makes ready the preparations to receive the Musin people in Yong Ping, first though stamping a copy of Toast's letter with the Yong Ping long dragon seal to signify state approval.
