THE BARCLAY DISOWNMENT

THE FALSE PONTIFF

Letters from the County of Freimark
On the 19th of the Deep Cold, 1849

As the Count of Freimark woke up from his agues-recovering sleep, he was bombarded with ten, maybe more carriers bringing many parchments and news from around the Empire and Almaris. Talks of a Pontiff... a new one "Oh dear GOTT, did Pontiff Everard find rest in the Seven Skies?" he wondered, still unaware. Then he read, and read, until he gave up reading "Oh mein LORD!" he exclaimed as he saw the news of the Anti-Pontiff. He got up then, and with much difficulty began work.

Later on in the day, the man shook his head, and began writing, he wrote with a heavy heart, and a contracted, yet sickly pale face. He'd pray silently "Saint Tylos, pray to GOTT to forgive your heretical descendant, for now Barclay ever will"

With heavy and regretful heart do I write these words. For my cousin, Count Johann of Reinmar, has already denounced the false Pontiff, so do I too shun away from him, even though he is my close kin. May Saint Tylos pray for his repentance, and GOTT forgive him, for no Barclay ever will.

Thus, does the House of Barclay von Freimark DISOWN the heretic Christoff, once one of ours. He has broken every Reinmaren vow, every Barclay ideal. He has no place amongst our family, and his birth is regretted by all. He shan't hold no last name and he shan't be given any. He shan't even be considered a bastard, for the House of Barclay does not know such. May he be known as Christoff the Heretic, who shall have no ties to our GOTT fearing House of Barclay. He is no longer ours.

IM NAMEN GOTTES,

DIE RICHTIGEN EHREN, Ernst Barclay, Reichsgraf von Freimak, Reichsfreiherr von Madvon, Herr von Neuberg und Erwinsburg, der Kommandant des Schwarzen Kreuzes

THE RIGHT HONORABLE, Ernst Barclay, Count of Freimark, Baron of Madvon, Lord of Neuberg und Erwinsburg, Commander of the Black Cross

"He's no longer a Barclay Bargain." Abraham snickered to himself, he thought it was a funny joke. How times have changed, what great conflict would be ahead? What hardships will Barclay face now?
