The Second Eldari Conclave of Ebonwood

Emergency Conclave

A conflict regarding Malin’s children is erupting the globe of Almaris, pitting his children against each other. The Mali realms of East and West have declared themselves in arms against the flock of Larihei of the Silver State. We can no longer sit idly as brother and sister raise arms upon each other, and  as Princeps of the Ebonwood, I summon all Gwaithor, Councilors, and all of the Malin’onn to conclave to discuss this conflict as it relates to we disciples of Malin’s teachings.

The matter before the conclave is thus:

  • Which Mali, Mali ito elanih’elaneh (Common: The Elves of East and West) or Haelun’or is acting within Malin’s Will.

    • We shall determine whether the Bronze Myriad, the Army of the Ebonwood, will be committed to either side.

    • We shall determine the scope of our involvement, if any, in this conflict.

    • Whether we shall sanction violence and death, against any group(s) or individuals for the protection of Malin’s realm.

The death of Mali, a literal immortal child of the immortal father, is a grave matter. We encourage those summoned to conclave to remember that our Father loved his children more than any of the other Sons. The weight of this decision shall surely add to the toll.

Those members unable to attend the conclave may submit their writings on the subject attached to this notice.

A brief overview of the conclave for those unfamiliar is attached.

Spoiler

They are one of three mechanisms for the passage of laws which we call ‘Revelations of Malin’ within the Ebonwood.

Any Gwaithor or Councilor of Ebonwood may summon the conclave.

All Elves, Equals. Any Mali, of any nation, may come to debate the way of Malin before the conclave to discern his truths and make their arguments.

All Elves, Malin. No Mali may be denied a voice, and shall be treated in accordance to their Mali heritage; not their national origin, or position in society.

All Elves, United. Revelations are considered the true understanding of the way of Malin and are considered as law within the Ebonwood once revealed. However, not all decisions are definitive for life - new information, new evidence and new context may change our understanding of the will of the prophet Malin.

Gwaithors, Councilors, and special individuals are the voting members of the Conclave. Special voting recognition is usually granted to leaders of Elven settlements.

Taevas thinks long and hard, before writing down a letter to the Conclave.

[!]

A thin looking crow delivers a letter to the conclave!

Dear Conclave;

I am unfortunately unable to attend your meeting; the Sohaer has yet to install a ramp out of the city. However, I still wish to ask a question of those advocating for the Princess's invasion of Haelun'or.

Why Ivarielle?

She clearly holds no claim other then her steel. She has no respect for Haelun'orian tradition. In a debate where THOUSANDS of citizens attended, she arrived thirty minutes late, and disregarded the formatting of the debate that she agreed to attend. She attacks the city she claims to rule, and the citizens hate her.

She claimed to have the citizens of Haelun'or's support, until it became blatantly clear that she didn't. Then, she decided that we were all brainwashed. It's almost like she's TRYING to alienate the people she claims leadership over - Or perhaps she simply doesn't care about them. Maybe this is just Ivarielle trying to claim herself a city. She doesn't even have any experience ruling one.

I am not brainwashed. I've constantly been told so. Everywhere I go, whenever I speak for Braxus, for Haelun'or, my opinion is disregarded for it. I hope that it is not the same in this conclave. Do consider what I've said.

I cannot see why Ivarielle has any support among the wider Mali. If you have to invade Haelun'or (Please don't) Find a more suitable ruler, perhaps. Maybe Zirath, or someone.

Just not Ivarielle.

This missive was brought to Ellathor Vanari by an Enflammer and he sighed when he reached the end of what it brought. "I do not know if I should be relived or worried by the call."

A pale-skinned, black-haired errandboy reaches Minuvas with a letter.

"Unfortunately, I cannot make it -- however, I put forth my vote to join this conflict, and to side with elvenkind on vanquishing Haelun'or from this realm.

If you're in need of any specifications or have further questions presented in the Conclave, send a bird back and I shall cast my vote for those, as well.

Good tidings!

Your's,

Gwaithor of the Syndicate of Ikürnor Okarn, Eldarhim of the Bronze Myriad, et Cetera."

A bright-eyed, gleaming-feathered raven would arrive to the conclave, a leather encasement lashed to its leg containing parchment written upon in a familiar, delicate calligraphy.

Dearest kin; lliran; Malin'onn,

I write as Mali and nothing but Mali. The actions of Haelun'or against their fellow Children of Malin have been long-known to us; even myself, one of the youngest of our blood, and even my peers. This is not to say all Mali are free of err against their fellow Elves; but it is to say that when we hold the history and choices of Haelun'or against the decisions of the North and West, I would think it quite clear which reflects the will of the King. To the North and West we see unity; the collaboration of 'Ker, of 'Aheral, of Fenn, of 'Ame. We see Malin's will in their actions; in their numbers; in their willingness to stand as One. In Haelun'or, we see what? Seclusion; division; a disregard for the Balance, for those they think 'lesser' - a rank which includes very Mali!

And furthermore; was it not our very House, my Melphestausan, that could not until this last decade travel to the Silver State without fear? Is it not our very tongue which tells us Thiln Equs Excrimenta - that the Haelunorian understanding of so-called Purity is, to put it plain, horseshit?

I say allow the Mali fighting for the righteous cause to know where our hearts and blades will lie, if they will so have us among their ranks, and look to them alongside our Emperor for example on the depth of our engagement thus.

So be it.

A letter smelling faintly of boggen blood arrives in the talons of an oversized raven of advanced age, its contents sealed with an a dot of wax, pressed by the pommel of some blade or another

"Karin'ayla llir,
Kae will not be present at the conclave, being required elsewhere.
Regardless Kae wish to remind Nae of the cruelty that Haelun'or is capable of, and willing to inflict upon not just its own citizens, but Lye at large.
If Nae are undecided still Kae request Nae remain neutral as to not aid the Haelun'ori in dragging out the conflict any longer than it already has.

[!] A parchment bearing the crest of House Daesmon would be pinned to the notice board

daemon.thumb.png.d7a0743b9214258f65ba10f8a00991b3.png

“Dear Llirs in Ebonwood,

The elves of Almaris are united against Haelun’or and her corrupted government. It is up to you what you choose, but siding with them is political suicide and a tactical blunder. Remember your goal Minuvas, don’t stand against the Elven world when you have just been allowed back in.

Karin’ayla.”

[!] A blue Jay would fly towards Minuvas with a cheerful chirp and a letter clutched within its talons.

"Dearest Mali

I unfortunately will not be able to join the conclave. However, I would like to cast a vote upon this matter.

It is true that the blood of all Mali, mother father and children are precious and should be preserved and kept safe. How ever against risking the lives of our kin I am, I indeed feel the sense that this matter needs to be dealt with before it affects more of Mali's children.

It is with a deep and concerned heart that I cast my vote to fight.

I send my best wishes to the Conclave and may you all meet safely.

Thalia Lasfaen, Gwaithor of Ilandria."
