Summary

 

The Simonist Party is a right-leaning ideology characterized by Social Progressivism, Monarchal & Peer Traditionalism, and Orenian Supremacy. It was founded in 1860 by Princess Carolina Luisa Ashford de Savoie as a response to the diminishment of Orenian politics and the degradation of foreign policy. Once, Oren was the bulwark of political theory and thought; but now it is a nation resting too idly by on its laurels as the world itself seeks to take the empire by storm and destroy what is left of the legacies of great men such as King Olivier de Savoie, Archchancellor Simon Basrid and many others. The failures of men such as Philip II, Holy Orenian Emperor, and others of his tyrannical cabal culminated in the Aster Revolution.

 

Party Statement

 

It is within our homeland of Oren that the greatest statesmen throughout the world have emerged. Influential figures such as Archchancellor Simon Basrid who have carried the entire nation of Oren upon their backs and attempted to foster economic growth and development, as well as maintaining Oren’s position as a dominant global superpower. It is through our merit as Orenians that we have achieved global dominance and exerted our influence across the known world. Since the reign of John I, Holy Orenian Emperor, our empire has reigned as the greatest facilitator of peace on the planet - there is no nation secondary in power, influence and sway to Oren, for all men and women of this earth are Orenian, whether they be Heartlander, Highlander or Farfolk.. 

 

To be an Orenian Patriot is to be a supporter of merit. It is merit that separates us from the Non-Humans and their chief-centered structures where one person makes all relevant decisions. Us humans, since the time of Exalted Godfrey, have reigned supreme because GOD saw it fit to make us in His own image, and it is through our empire that the demesne of Man must be reunited. The Simonist Party seeks to progress the nation of Oren through the following means.

 

Juxtaposed to the light that the Empire brings is the ignorance fostered by Non-Human coalitions, which seek to degrade and disparage us. With the Siege of Southbridge we were given a stark reminder that the world itself does not possess the forethought the Empire does. The Imperial State Army was ill equipped to deal with such a large foreign and hostile invasion, it lacked the funding and the manpower to conduct large operations. Prior to the Aster Revolution, the Council of State was simply the vehicle through which the Emperor made his demands, and the Imperial Diet a glorified body of inefficient bureaucrats. 

 

We, the Simonist Party, advocate for the following in light of the Aster Revolution and its resuscitation of our great nation. 

 

Reform of the Imperial Diet;

 

The Imperial Diet should be reformed, it’s structure and powers together. The unprecedented reforms have weakened and diminished the governmental body. We seek the re-establishment of the legislative body, similar to that of the great reigns of the Emperor Joseph II and John VIII with minor changes and alterations. Respectively, we seek the return of powers such as confirmations, impeachments and matters referring to the Council of State. The jurisdiction over budget creation, war declaration, diplomacy and etcetera. All of those restored, whilst the Imperial Assent acting as an effective veto to all.

 

Revival of the ISA;

 

The Imperial State Army ought to be empowered. By no means is Oren a unitary state any longer; but in order to preserve the peace an astonishing army shall be the key to our future as the sole dominant human power on this continent. The army has suffered without proper funding and as a consequence many soldiers lack proper training, opportunities and equipment. Many good Orenians no longer have faith in the institution of the army as its power has waned in recent years, its role being usurped by private interests, such as mercenaries and paid swords. More attention, respect and funding ought to be leveraged to the ISA so that once again, it may be re-established as the most elite military force in all the lands.
 

Emphasis on Flexible Policy;

 

We Simonists advocate for maintaining strict Monarchal & Peer Traditions. However, there are times where the Holy Orenian Empire must progress. An emphasis on flexible policy shall allow us to pick issues that are relevant to our constituents. By maintaining elasticity with regards to affairs involving foreign policy and domestic affairs, we can best tailor the solution to the needs of the problem that has been presented, as long as we do not compromise our key beliefs.
