~A Potential Resolution~

Just today, as I write this report, the staff of the Herald has received word that our own Mimosa Applefoot and Sorrel  R. Peregrin sat in our beautiful (yet unnamed) new tavern, with the Lord-Commander of the hostile and inflammatory forces of the BSK. While this reporter was sure that the story would end in disaster, by all accounts it was a relatively neutral meeting, wherein Mimosa (acting in her duty of Elder) brokered peace with the Lord-Commander on behalf of the Honeyhill community and BSK army respectively.

By all accounts this meeting seems to have gone over quite well, and both parties seemed to be satisfied with the result, and in knowing that each understood the other in no uncertain terms. While I would not begrudge my fellow weefolk and citizens of Honeyhill from keeping wariness about themselves after such hostilities, this writer is tentatively hopeful for the restoration of  balance between Honeyhill and Karosgrad proper.

That is all this writer has to say regarding the situation, and hopefully the last that will ever need be said.

~The Crusade Against the Herald~

Dear readers, it seems as though my words have led to some controversy around Almaris. This edition alone has undergone several rewrites as situations developed and resolved themselves sans my own input; Normally, one may wonder if it makes a writer question their own importance. However, dear reader, there is but one thing that has remained a common thread between many of these stories that I have juggled writing upon- many of them mention me in some regard!

Fair reader, I shall not deceive you by claiming this does not do anything for my ego; indeed, one of the greatest honors that a writer can receive is to be acknowledged by their target audience, and for me that is all of Almaris! Still, I had been hoping that some of it would be in much lighter tones. Indeed, in previous renditions of this publication I had wanted to tell a story of a halfling being interrogated by roguish individuals- who shall no longer be named- and one of their questions was the identity of yours truly! Another occurrence was discussing a recent spree of vandalism in nearby beloved Karosgrad, wherein it was alleged that an investigator was considering me- without even knowing my name!- a suspect of the crime.

I shan't pat myself on the back any longer, but I will conclude with this.

I have no plans to reveal myself or my name to anyone, even my fellow villagers. As much as I dislike anything approaching dishonesty, these interrogations have made me realize that anyone who knows the truth about me is in danger by doing so.

I love each and every one of my fans, readers, and cohabitants of this wonderful world we live in.

And I plan to keep it this way, so that we can continue to connect with each other.

Be safe, my friends!

~A Successful Bee-Cooperative~

A surprise today in Honeyhill, when a duo of bigguns approached elder Mimosa Applefoot and former sheriff Sorrel Peregrin with gifts of pie and promises of trade. Even recent incidents couldn't dissuade the well-intentioned weefolk from accepting such a wonderful-smelling gift, and smiles were shared in short order. Things would only continue to foster that neighbourly atmosphere that Honeyhill denizens so pride themselves on, as it turns out that one of the bigguns (a dark-haired female whose name I was unable to obtain) was the overseer of a bee-raising operation out of a nearby town!

Unfortunately, it seems as though some of the very same ne'er-do-wells that had pestered the weefolk went after this humble bumble-farmer, and absconded or harmed some of her beloved bees. It was arranged on the spot that, in return for this wonderful pie (and promises of more in the future!), the Honeyhill apiaries would contribute a few bees to restart this lovely woman's program.

A barrier was encounter soon after, however- upon visiting said apiaries, the bees were almost completely missing! Before any alarm was raised, Miss Peregrin had heard a buzzing from above their heads, in the tree one planted and nurtured by her mother, Iris Peregrin. Said tree held a treehouse, and so it was deemed that it would be investigated for any possible bee activity. To their surprise and delight, it seemed as though there was a hive flourishing inside the treehouse itself, and the activity kept drawing up bees from the area to join in! The upper floor of the treehouse was filled with friendly bees, and renovations were quickly made to encourage these fine workers to move between apiaries and hives as they desires.

Two bees were then made acquaintance of the dark-haired biggun, who then brought them back to her home to restart what she called a "Bumble Empire".

This writer wishes her the best of luck, and hopes to see it for myself one day!
