Per our assertion at the summit meeting at Vienne, and the Congress of Atrus, The Barony of Acre declares its independence, and states that we have never been and will never be a part of the Kingdom of Aaun. We were not informed that it was Charles' intention to form it. We never agreed to join the Kingdom of Aaun, nor did we swear fealty. Our independence has been a fact since the dissolution of the Harvest Confederacy, and we are merely reasserting it. We give thanks to those of Haense, Balian and Petra for showing their understanding of our wishes for sovereignty, and their pledge to defend us, should such sovereignty be challenged by those we formerly saw as friends, and hope they leave us to live in peace.

The Barony of Acre is a separate and independent entity and is recognized as one. The Barony of Acre was an independent identity in the Harvest Confederacy and will be one now.

Signed,

Wolfgang de Vilain, Baron of Acre

Cassius takes the news while overseeing his smiths work, nodding in approval. "We shall stand with Acre!" He'd tell those men around him, before offering them to go back to work. He'd set off towards the harbor of the town, keen on looking out towards the river which might soon transport them to Acre's defense!

A young Colton would grin as he read the missive from a bench in Acre. He'd place the paper on his lap, clapping to himself. A rather strange scenario for anyone that witnessed it.

Odille af Acre traversed her way from Petra back to Castle Vilain, a certain withered woman trailing behind her, words tumbled from the mad woman's maw for the entire journey back - even as they both settled into the ivory keep, "Mother's are not to blame for their son's actions," The girl uttered to her with a nod of assurance following shortly after, "You'd stay if you loved me."

"Wolfgang's made himself known, and continues to make the legacy of the Barony of Acre and the de Vilain name proud." Remarked the young Huntshill-Sarkozy, Anne. She nodded her head in assurance before putting the missive aside for a moment. Pondering, she thought whether she had left the kettle on the stove a little too long before panicking in a rush to stop the potential flames.

The withered madwoman felt knots in her chest for the whole journey back. Her throat tightened as they travelled through the grove where Aloisia peered about with large eyes. When they reached the square, she pulled her hood over her head and lowered it only when they had reached the confines of the ivory keep. Aloisia gave a slight nod to her daughter's reassurance - though it did not help her shake the feeling that she was at fault.

But the fact remained - she would remain if there are battles to fight.
