A decree from the Royal Chambers of The Kingdom of Balian

Introduction:

The Offices of the Legate and Procurator of the Kingdom of Balian have decided upon the creation of a new administrative position. The Mercer will oversee that Balianian national interest in regards to trade policies be pursued. 

1. Powers

 

The Mercer will, as the name suggests:

 

• Oversee trade between the Kingdom of Balian and allies to the Crown.

 

• Oversee the creation of stalls and shops within these domains.

 

• Oversee the talks and writings of trade agreements between foreign powers.

 

• Record profit and losses and report them to the Crown and Royal Chamber regularly

 

2. Tenure

 

The Mercer will serve as the administrator of trade for the Kingdom of Balian until their passing unless ruled otherwise by the Crown. (See Section III.)

 

3. Removal and Appointment

 

If the interests of the Crown regarding trade are not protected the King will have full authority to remove and replace the Mercer with advice from his Royal Chamber taken into consideration.
