7th of the Grand Harvest, 1933

TO THE CITIZENS OF AAUN,

It is with great sorrow that today the House of Haverlock announces the passing of the firstborn son of our Patriarch Louis Owyn Haverlock; Godfrey Tobias Haverlock. The young Haverlock and heir apparent to his Father’s titles had been suffering from a prolonged infection after sustaining an injury during a trip to the Whitespire Mines.

Our House mourns greatly for the loss of one of its own, and we hope that others will join us in praying for the soul of the late Godfrey Tobias. He shall be missed dearly by his friends and family.

Signed,

Louis Owyn Haverlock, Prince of the Haverlocks, Patriarch of House Haverlock

Julietta, the youngest and only sister to her eldest brother, mourns the loss with a heavy heart. She had been tending to him day in day out but her efforts weren't enough. She buried herself in her work for days on end, unable to take breaks so she could ignore the pain it has brought her. The house felt so much quieter without the loud man around.

Leopold felt a deep ache in his heart within those first, few hours of receiving the fate of his older brother. Being second born held its own challenges, but he rarely wished for anything else. As a young man, he found himself inspired by the attitudes that managed to be exclusive to his brother. Some of these ideas managed to find their way into him, and it would be these characteristics that would carry on Godfrey's memory. Whilst he ciphered through these heavy thoughts he'd be adorned in his black attire as to properly mourn his brother's passing for the next year.

A change in his countenance came, and perhaps a change in his ambitions..

The now older woman, Olenna Haverlock felt her hands shake, before they clasped together in an attempt to still them. Their first son, Godfrey, is gone. Her mind wondered and stomach lurched, a particular distress overcoming the woman.

Somewhere else in a distant place, the younger Haverlock brother of Godfrey gripped the missive tightly. “I’m sorry I wasn’t there for your last moments…brother…”
