Javert 5594 Popular Post Share Posted July 20, 2023 A SON OF EIRIK Artyom and the Norlandic-Veletzian warband in battle, 138 S.A. Artyom had been awoken from his nap by the call. “Rally at the gates! We’re meeting with the Veletzians.” Artyom stumbled out of his room in the Eiriksson Clan Hall after donning his Armor that belonged to his Great-Grandfather King Ragnvald and a trusty Spear. He wasn’t sure if there would be combat, but he figured he ought to be prepared. He silently entered the room of his sleeping son, Torrhen, and took a deep breath. He knew he’d see him again, but he was happy to see his Son’s face before he left. Little did he know. The Norlandic warband marched from Norland to Veletz, stopping in a little hamlet that Artyom learned was named Potteville. A cozy place, he thought. Nonetheless, the Norlandic host was soon joined by contingents from Veletz and after a while they briefed the mass of soldiers. They were going to march on Urguani lands, demand the arrest of the Frostbeard Clan Father for raiding Veletzian lands, and that was about it. Artyom took a deep breath and went along with the combined Army as they left Potteville and marched to Urguani lands. A while later the Human host had found themselves in the Urguani capital by marching through the mountains. The Norlandic host captured a Dwed by the name of Sigrun Ireheart and dragged him with them to the gates of the Urguani throne room, which the Dwedmar had shut when they heard the host coming. After brief negotiations between Veletzians and Urguani, the commanders of the human host ordered them to head back the way they came. The next thing Artyom knew, their host had been surrounded on both sides by Dwedmar forces. A Frostbeard warband had hidden within their Clan Hall and jumped out at the Humans the moment they attempted to leave. “Well then,” Artyom thought to himself. “Let’s get this done. Torrhen’ll be awake soon.” Little did he know. The next thing Artyom knew he had a large gash in his chest, blood pouring from the wound in his body. Artyom lost hold of his spear and fell to the floor clutching his wound. He tried to speak, but blood filled his lungs and coughed up whenever he tried. “Is this what death feels like?” Artyom wondered. In the next moment, he saw a Dwed standing over him with an axe hovering over his head. “Sorry Torrhen,” Artyom thought, “I won’t be coming home alive tonight.” The Dwed brought the axe down upon Artyom’s neck, and his vision went black. Spoiler OOC: The PVP was super fun today. I hold absolutely nothing against the Urguani, and I had an utter blast. I figured I'd respect the clutch that the Dwarves made and PK to it, even though I'll miss Artyom. Thank y'all, and I'll be around on other chars
Legoboy7984 2448 Share Posted July 20, 2023 As Torrhen Eiriksson continued to practice on the training dummy, his mind was consumed with the shocking news he had just heard. The tight grip on his blade reflected the surge of emotions within him – grief, anger, and determination. He needed some time alone to process the information and channel his feelings into his training. The informant left him, giving him the solitude he sought. As the tears fell from his cheek, Torrhen wiped them away angrily, refusing to let sorrow weaken him. He was fueled by the desire for vengeance, vowing to avenge his father's death and make those responsible pay, even if it meant confronting the dwarves. With newfound determination, Torrhen went back to attacking the training dummy with ferocity. Each swing was a manifestation of his rage and commitment to his mission. He trained harder than ever before, honing his skills, and preparing himself mentally and physically for the battle ahead. "Don't worry father! You shall be avenged!" Juvens 198 Share Posted July 20, 2023 An elderly dwarf approaches the body, shakes his head with a sad expression at the thrown away life of a poor lad, just for the pride of some misguided leaders. He then continues to take the body and throws it into the mass-grave that has been dug out for the slain army, to then continue to get the next body.
