Wretched Aunts & Rotten Cousins.

 

We are no stranger to falsehood and unfounded accusations. It was not so long ago we implored for the Holy Mother Church to clear us of misguided imputations, made unto us by those we thought of as friends and cousins. Yet, despite our aunt Marlena’s involvement in protecting us, we were only kinder at the time, and despite witnessing the hatred of men who had forgotten mercy for the temptation of lies and woe. Our aunt has forgotten those events, and has forgotten her obligations to her kin; now only superficial ideals of honour cloud her judgement, and she forgets love. 

 

My engaged, Lady Theodosya Amador, of Mondstadt, never entered courtship with Lord Peter Theodoric d’Arkent, in fact he was rejected outright upon proposing a courtship. To suggest that the gutte, 𝕲𝖔𝖙𝖙-fearing Lady Theodosya was involved in any way with my cousin is a vile lie, and will be considered a great slight against Lady Theodosya, all Azorites, our Cadet Houses and every von Augusten.

 

We quietly tolerated the slights of many before, but now refuge has been found, tresspasses against our name shall no longer be permissed. Especially those in regards to the dreamt-up, broken romance of a cotquean heirling.

 

It is also a lie, and unfounded accusation, to suggest that we did not respond to the Lady d’Arkent’s letter, a plea to relinquish our courtship with our now promised, we did. It is the fault of yours, our aunt, that you did not keep your correspondence in order. May we refresh your memory of our letter’s contents: we commanded you cease your insults and hearsay chatter and asked for a meeting, so all bad feelings could be aired. You failed to respond and instead insult us for your poor attempts at communication.

 

It must be sad to pretend that one visits their family. It is almost laughable that you claim a deep connection between our families, when it has been little over a decade since we were graced with the presence of our d’Arkent cousins. Or is it the delusions of an ailing woman, maddened by the incessant demands of a son in need of permanent mothering, that brings you to make up your relationship with us? A son not even able to announce his own denouncements, dependent on his mother to solve his transgressions, fearful of this great big world. The boy Teddy must only feel safe clinging to his mother’s breast.

 

It is with these enlightened words of clarification, that we now command you to come to Rikardsburg with haste and offer your apologies, before us and before all publically. We shall see that you kneel before us, as a daughter of von Augusten, and show us your penance. We offer you and your son our forgiveness, should you take it we shall receive you once more, and allow you to rejoin our family as before. Should you deny it, you will never be allowed to rejoin us, von Augustens, you shall be disgraced and disowned and would have dishonoured yourself to have not reconciled your own blood.

 

𝕲𝖔𝖙𝖙’s Mercy unto you aunt, and cousins d’Arkent. May He guide you to choose the righteous choice.

Lord Gott Almight, come to my aid;

Punish the heathen, show no mercy to the evil traitor!

Almighty Gott, stop those flattering lips, and cut off those bragging tongues;

Your Words are pure, we endure for You, You will keep us safe from all anguish.

Save us from heathenry and traitors, be their end, but be our beginning.
