We ask that you heed your pious flock from the evils of sin and the evils of Iblees’ servants alike. Many of them are unaware of the perils the world has in store for them, but this is not ignorance, rather innocence. So please, Holy Father, bless the innocent with Your divine grace, and may You forgive those who have strayed from innocence into sin, so that they may yet find salvation and Your glory. Amen. SECTION II - DIOCESAN RESTRUCTURING It is through Our Apostolic Right, bestowed unto Us through the Laurel derived from the Exalted, that We see fit to reconstruct, merge and establish the following Diocese, so that Our Church may be better and more efficiently managed by the accordingly appointed shepherds. As per the joint suggestion of the Bishop of Buron and the Bishop of Gelimar, their Dioceses will be merged to form the following new diocese:DIOCESE OF ST. GODWINEncompassing the entirety of the United Kingdom of Aaun as well as surrounding parishes not incorporated in other Dioceses, with its seat in the Parish of Whitespire. One such spiritual punishment, a severe one, is that of excommunication. Declaring someone to be an excommunicant, to be anathema, is a medicinal penalty. A threat, yes, but one that serves to invite and animate the person to change their behavior away from sin, to have them seek penance and repent, so that they may return to full communion with our most Holy Mother Church. That said, we declare the EXCOMMUNICATION of Richard and Ottavia Stassion. The Lord and Lady of House Stassion have broken their vows sworn on a holy relic - the body of Saint Alexander of Furnestock - to King John of Aaun. A vow that there would be no aggression between the Stassions and the King, a vow that said Richard would seek to become a deacon. Yet the House of Stassion has broken this holy oath of non-aggression, and Richard has not become a deacon. What is more, the Holy Mother Church of the Canon charges Richard and Ottavia Stassion with the arson and destruction of the church in the parish of Stran. In addition to these crimes against the faith, there is also the fact that the Stassionites have sided with the anathema Gaspard of Veletz in battle, a crime in of itself. For these crimes combined, we thus deem it just and necessary to excommunicate the Lord and Lady, with the hope of the damnation of their souls urging them to change their sinful ways. Lord Richard and Lady Ottavia, we ask you to reach out to us or a member of our Curia to repent and seek penance for your deeds and hope to see you as changed, GOD-fearing people before it is too late. SECTION VII - ON THE APOSTOLIC CITYWhile this news comes somewhat late, since our last Golden Bull, the Apostolic City has come into being. A construction effort was led by Cardinal Frantzisko of Buron in his role as Palatine of the Apostolic City which saw the miraculously rapid building of this holy place at the hands of the Church’s builders. Since then the new primary base of operations of our faith has seen much use already and we hope that it may continue to serve our Holy Mother Church well into the future. While much of the Apostolic City is restricted in access to members of the clergy and the Order of Saint Jude, visits for religious or studying purposes as well as tours are possible at request. For this, we recommend eager visitors to reach out in writing or in person to the Palatine of the Apostolic City, the aforementioned and reverend Cardinal Frantzisko, Bishop of Buron. SECTION VIII - ON THE CODEX IURIUS We seek to inform the faithful of a project we have taken up ourselves and with our Curia, a project that has been sorely needed and a long time coming; revising the Codex Iurius. The Codex Iurius Canonici Danielus Pontifex, known to the layman as the Lawbook of the Church, has over the many years of its existence grown outdated and erroneous even despite its revisions under High Pontiff James II. It contains sections which are no longer relevant - like on the Holy Orenian Empire, it fails to account for certain newer reforms of the faith pertaining for instance to the women of the priesthood, and in many places it is also written in an unclear manner that could use revision.While this revision of the Codex Iurius with all the required rewritings, removals and additions, shall be a monumental task, we have no doubts that despite the long time it will take to complete, it will be achieved with the help of the members of the Pontifical Curia, providing Canondom and the Holy Mother Church with more suitable religious laws. SECTION IX - ON THE PENANCE OF JOHANES VAN AERT Recently we had one of the Veletzian excommunicants come to us seeking penance for the first time; the former Duke, Sir Johanes van Aert. Sir Johanes was included in the excommunication of Veletzian leadership but his crimes were limited to associating with the anathema and siding with them in conflict. In recognition of this, we agreed with him to a penance that was fair; Sir Johanes van Aert is no longer to associate with or aid anybody who is excommunicated from our Holy Mother Church. Additionally van Aert shall become a deacon to serve the Church as a layman. Once he is invested in his diaconate function, his excommunication shall be lifted.
