The ruffling of paper sounded in the halls of Tor-Praeth... Then suddenly, a chuckle, that chuckle had then turned into a laugh, a maddening laugh.

After today, I will hear no more talk of Aenguls or Daemons being divine beings. They are petty, selfish, immoral creatures whose only desire is to consume one another in an attempt to further their own power, only before they too are one day slain and consumed in a never ending cycle. They can promise no afterlife, nor protect your soul, and any one that claims otherwise is a liar! All they can offer is an ephemeral taste of power before it eventually dissolves to naught.  Any who place their faith in such creatures shall only be disappointed.

"Ah, they've grasped it! At last the message resonates within them!"

Yandel sat in a southern prison, soul immolated, skin blotched and marred by dragonscale, by etchings of Asiothic runes and depictions of the slaughter of his kin. Xan had died; Yandel could no longer use his mists to bring light to the Black Cells, and Yandel, once proud and pious, was utterly defeated.
