The Purpose
Formed on the basis of craftsmanship, and respect. The Oldfire Forge, a dwarven run forge, was made to find a place not only to purchase a vast variety of items ranging from simple jewels, to weapons, to even golems. It was also formed to spread the art of smithing to others. This includes the more well known ferrum, and aurum but also some of the harder to work with metals like anorum, and black-ferrum. At this time the rarest of metals like azhl are still not being taught, for now.

The Apprentice Process
The process of becoming an apprentice at the Oldfire Forge has a couple steps. Each step has a different thing to test the apprentice’s aptitude to learn, and be a problem solver. If you wish to start this process you must contact Grimmnir Runehammer(Sir_DB) by sending a letter.

Trial 1
The apprentice must prove their ability to understand the basics of craftsmanship, and thus will need to make a design of something they wish to craft on a piece of paper, and show it to Grimmnir. He will then judge the design, and provide feedback, without making changes to it. The apprentice must use this feedback to make the design better.

Trial 2
After the first trial is complete the apprentice will be tasked to source different materials used in crafting; These materials will change depending on what they made in the first trial. After sourcing these materials they must explain how each is processed, and refined.

Trial 3
The final trial of an apprentice is to attempt to craft the item they designed in the first trial; They are not expected to succeed but they have to try, and after it is finished they will show Grimmnir who will judge its quality, and explain to them how to improve it. This must be done in the presence of Grimmnir to ensure they make it, and they did not have someone else do so.

Apprentice Hood
Upon completion of the three trials the apprentice will then be judged by Grimmnir as a person, and if they pass this judgment they will be taken on as an apprentice. This will be a more hands-on learning then just reading a book, and will come with actual lessons where Grimmnir smiths something in their presence.

A young girl pens a letter of hopeful apprenticeship. . Her studies did not cover the creation of weaponry and jewelry alike. Surely, her mother would not mind!

Camilla Falkner smiled at the announcement.

"Good to finally get a proper smith in Lilenburg. We have always made our tools ourselves, but it is not easy to make a good blade."

Grimmnir Runehammer realizes he forgot to mention a location, and attaches the address. A smithy that was on the outskirts of Lotusgarde, Silasia.

The Master Alchemist and Beginner Animii Crafter of House Berkhoven, Joseph von Berkhoven, read through the missive as he sat down at his desk previously looking over the blueprints of an Animii prosthetic that he had been given by his uncle and mentor Klaus. The young Berkhoven had taken interest to expand on the knowledge of different crafts to forward the innovation of his family’s future. Soon Joseph would roll up the blueprints for the time being before grabbing a fresh piece of parchment to write a letter.

In the city of Kretzen, Reinmar was a store. It sold original makes of cultural Reinmaren and Waldenian design, attached to two working forges to keep up with local and export demand. Named 'Die Ehren Schmiede' it was owned and managed by its smith, Estmund von Kretzen.

Estmund leaves his storefront to deposit a recently made transaction and crosses a busy road to a bank just ahead. He glances at a small cart nearby, being run by one of his apprentices. That cart was where he first began the business. He waves to the apprentice then makes his way into the bank.

As he awaited bureaucracy his eye was caught by a poster advertising the Oldfire Forge and apprenticing of such. He turned his head fully and read it to pass the time before his attention was enraptured. 'I've never had a Dwarven master,' he thinks to himself. Although an adept in his own right who had already undergone an apprenticeship. He reminisces on the dwarven accomplishments within the world of smithing.

He hurries back and writes a letter.
