SERVANTS & PETS

- Tier 3 Animii companions follow all rules for pets in combat, and may not exceed the size of a Golden Retriever. They are relatively fragile, owing to their smaller size and more primitive minds, and will otherwise act much as a mundane critter would. 

- Should one connect to any magic while utilizing a T3 Animii Combat Pet, that pet will be rendered inert until [2] emotes after disconnection.

- Within Combat, a magic user who connects to any magic will cause their T3 Animii Companions to go totally inert - unmoving and unresponsive to commands, making them totally immobile and useless until [2] Emotes after disconnection. 

- T4+ Animii Companions do not suffer from this effect.

- An Inert Animii companion may not be utilized to a Tinkerer’s benefit while under this effect, in combat or otherwise.

- Beings and Descendants who are otherwise considered always connected to a magic are unable to utilize T3 Animii Combat Pets.

 

 

Purpose:

 

Per Core Alchemy III, Combative Alchemical applications are rendered inert until one has disconnected from all magics for [2] Emotes. This redline has been carried down towards Animii Combat Summons, to prevent the minmaxing approach of combining their usage with various magics. This amendment does not introduce a weakness to magic, or affect non-combat situations.

 

Per LT Feedback, all references to Machine Spirits have been removed.

i dont use my combat pet anymore but if i did I would just 'tame a dire wolf' or sm shit

This question isn't for Primnya, but for the community. Why can't Combat Pets in their entirely just be removed?

What if I want my mage machine spirit technomancer character to use my autohound? I don't see how this helps. I can just tame a direwolf but it removes the mechanical flavour I want.

because combat pets are cool and to certain communities hold a strong aspect to their lore, 
Orcish mounts for e.g
Why shouldn't we be able to tame beasts and attack with them?

Combat Pets aren’t Mounts - a Mount can’t attack or do anything besides offer faster movement speed.

might be an issue with pet balance in general, rather than animatii in specific. very few people rp their pet's existence up until its convenient as well lmfao

I dread the idea of re-writing the Combat Pets & Summon page but I may give it a try eventually.

As stated in last post. Not much lore reason for the redlines to act that way. Should still exist in a radius if anything since once again as stated. There's no real soul connection between a magic caster & a pet other than giving orders. What about pets without one consistent owner outside of crp?

Would rather see animii combat pets being locked to the feat. :P None the less, this doesn't affect me. #conjuration
