call of it’s kindred people - intent to see the transparency, heart & virtue of our realm’s labours, return within.

Vallagne’sReconstruction, to the Cantonal Tour of our Commonwealth, as an appraisal of our Commonwealth’s every ardent soul, on the

hardships we have all weathered,on the valour we have all shown, and on that virtue, which is yet to grace us.

Answering The Realm’s Call

The Lady-Chancellor, sits down, with the newly elected Lord-Maire of Vallagne, and those Pétrine kindred in attendance at the public interview

from last saint’s-week, to answer the realm’s questions, and shed light on the Commonwealth’s next steps.

✦•························································································•✦•························································································•✦

✦•························································································•✦•························································································•✦

Lady-Chancellor, Dame Amélie Auclair, sits down with Lord-Maire, Prince Gareth Lucius, and Vallagne’s cityfolk, around the Catherinain Square’s pyre, gentle humour, and idle excitement is shared between them, as they quiet down for the Lady-Chancellor’s speech.

Dame Amélie: To chance think so many of our dearest kindred would join us such. I nary but hope won’t suffer keep us all e’er long.

Mayor Gareth: Feel free to get comfortable, Lady-Chancellor. I want to ask you to please start off if you could, with describing your office to those

ho, for some reason, may not know the Chancellery, and the Chancellor’s office does.

Dame Amélie: That we should.

Q1: What describes the Chancellery, and the Chancellor’s Office labours, and nature?

The Lady-Chancellor proceeds to remove her Chancellor’s pin, presenting it to the cityfolk convened as she spoke.

Dame Amélie: To all herein convened, who haven’t chanced to learn the offices of our wider Commonwealth yet, the Chancellery, is our Commonwealth’s

foremost Crown Institution, with it’s Lady-Chancellor, heading her Majesty’s Government, the River Council, and seeing the joint labours, and efforts, of the

River Council, and our realm’s Crown Institutions, directed towards tending to our kindred people’s ills, woes, thoughts, and hopes, divining the Commonwealth’s

path alongside their Majesties, and the Council.

The Chancellor’s pin would return unto her vestments, as she turned unto the Lord-Maire’s speech anew.

Mayor Gareth: And, if you can answer, what has the Chancellery been up to in recent times, is there anything which you are able to speak on, or allude to

whichthe people of Petra should watch out for?

Q2: What has the Chancellery been labouring on the last few eves, that you are able to disclose?

Dame Amélie: Amidst the final labours wrought by our Commonwealth, alongside our canonist & Númendain kindred, in the Robertine Crusade, I was intent

to see that our labours outside our realm, would ne’er come to bid our realm suffer within, as is much too often chances be the case, amidst the call of war - it is

hence, that the Chancellery saw that the offices, of our wider Commonwealth, would continue unto their initially divined path, prior to the tidings that bid

the conflict on our e’er kindred’s mind - the Reconstruction of Vallagne.

Dame Amélie: Announced amidst the royal court, that preceded the tidings that bid us join our Númendain kindred in their conflict; our efforts were seen tested

evermore in seeing the Métropole, and Royal Capital of Vallagne, is shaped to accommodate the new fate chanced upon us since the Commonwealth’s renaissance

- since our labour’s inception, plans have been laid out to almost completion, with no small assistance from our e’er beloved office, and dearest councillors, naught

least of all our beloved Grand Treasurer, Lady Katrin

Dame Amélie: If I would be bid to give an estimation, I would chance say the project’s planning & city’s completion, is nearing to a 90% percentile of

completion, as of this eve.

Dame Amélie: Of course, chancing to see our labours are ne’er wrest in our singular duty alone, much else has kept my attention & labours of late, as e’er

seems to be the case. From the penning of our allies in planning the war-postponed Riversmeet, such that the event would be ready on the eve of the Robertine

Crusade’s conclusion; to late eves alongside, or spent penning, our dearest allies, in Haense & the Númendain; to the establishment of the Salvian Bureau’s &

Emissaries’ immediate post-war duties; to the Grand Treasury's labours in the expansion of our treasury to accommodate the Royal Capital’s expenses amidst it’s

reconstruction and expansion.

Mayor Gareth: Such is good news. Let us stay on the positive for now, what would you say are our Commonwealth’s biggest strengths right now?

Q3: What would you consider the Commonwealth’s greatest strengths, as of right now?

Dame Amélie: It is ne’er unknown, that our Commonwealth is beholden to a nature, and heart, much too rarely seen amidst our kindred peers, and realms,

amidst our wider Aevosi kinlands; and with the recent efforts of our Immigration Bureau, more & more slowly find themselves joining us as Pétrine kindred; it is

amidst our nation’s foremost heart, Pétrine thought, and penchant for espousing & becoming  the chivalric virtues & values, of our tradition, in aught field,

background, and industry one might be welcomed to herein, that we’ve been in fact, labouring such to ready for the Royal Capital’s expansion, and the inception

of a long-planned residency campaign, had laboured on personally, since the eve of the former Heartlandic Woes.

Mayor Gareth: So, our values you would say?

Dame Amélie: Our heart, our values, and our very kindred. For who amongst us tonight, doesn’t see in eachother the most blessed, kind, virtuous, and loving

hearts of Aevos.

Mayor Gareth: And if you might describe the Commonwealth, and it’s people? I am interested to hear such.

Q4: How would you describe the Commonwealth, and it’s Pétrine kindred?

Dame Amélie: If I would chance say, I would say: A realm of kindred, close-knit, yet divergent peoples, of blessed heart & kinship, that seek out & labours unto

what is virtuous, despite aught adversity or judgement might be levied unto them despite it - a realm wherein the chivalry, virtue, valour & heart that defines our

e’er kindred, is exemplified long past the few ordained knights amongst us, but as a conviction & nature, that had become synonymous with our every kindred,

from amidst the most humble yeoman, to the burghers amidst the Métropole, to the very Royal Family itself - a nation so defined by the seven mercies, and four

chivalries, that is has become us entirely.

Mayor Gareth: For my second-to-last question, what are the top three issues you believe are present within the Commonwealth, in present times?

Q5: How would you describe the Commonwealth, and it’s Pétrine kindred?

Dame Amélie: I’m e’er glad you brought such up, your Highness; it is amidst our shortcomings, we aught to labour most - the Commonwealth, for all it’s

graces, heart & virtue, has been suffering unto the labours of our yet pending conflict, and our duties. The River Council, and our most beloved Councillors

within, labour, and at times struggle, amidst their duties alone, to the lengths of sleep-deprivation, and exhaustion.

Dame Amélie: Despite being replete with the brightest minds, and most able bodied, across our greater Aevosi kinlands, our Councillors labour alone on

the issues sought out by her Majesty’s Government, as even they grow & compound, bidding us to become more, and more untransparent amidst the crusade’s

continued march; making even this interview, a necessity, for our e’er Pétrine kindred, who struggled to know what our path forward even was, in earnest, up

until this eve.

Dame Amélie: It is hence, that I had so eagerly welcomed your initiative for an interview, with all my heart, your Highness; amidst our labours, we have

failed to keep our kindred appraised, and I could nary but lament, how little our kindred were aware of, let alone, be involved, in our realm’s labours for their

livelihoods.

Dame Amélie: It is such, that the Royal Court, this coming eve will additionally seek to appraise all herein, as this eve has, and it’s such, that this eve’s

interview will be writ, penned & featured, amidst the next Chancellor’s Digest - it is time our realm, returns to the transparency in it’s labours, from fore the

onset of the crusade; it is time, aught are made aware of our path forward, such that they might join us in making the Commonwealth, the realm it deserves

to be, for our e’er Pétrine kindred, should they find in their heart, the fire & heart to do so.

Mayor Gareth: A very good answer I would say. I hope you have time for one more question from me. And, if anyone else has any, should you have yet

more time. What would be theone thing you would see changed within the Commonwealth should there be no obstacles to it?

Q6: What would you see changed within the Commonwealth, if there was no obstacle to it?

Dame Amélie: You know well I would ne’er suffer to foreshorten time amidst all those beloved to me herein, your Highness. Aught else is second, to our

labours here together.

Dame Amélie: Whence it comes to what I, personally, would suffer change, it would be the means by which we address the ills and woes of our to-be

kindred; much too many find, and are to find, a new home amidst the Commonwealth, as Pétrine kindred, yet have proven, both by census, and precedent,

to struggle in coming to know the heart, values, history, nature & career prospects of our Commonwealth, and chafe under their labours to adapt.

Dame Amélie: As our Chancellor, however, such is in my means to change, and have been labouring towards mending such, since the eve of the

Heartlandic Woes, now no few summers ago - and I naught but await, for all herein to chance see the result of those labours soon, in the establishment

of the Clairian Exchange, and Guide to the Commonwealth. It is such, that would like to raise this as a word, to keep to heart, to all herein convened.

Dame Amélie: Ne’er desire, or wish, stands outside our means, today, it is tackling the lack of transparency, appraising our kindred, and depending

on one another in our labours amidst the suns to come - tomorrow, it will be welcoming of new-found kindred - and eves from now, it will be whatever

new adversity, hardship, or blessing, we chance face, as we have, time, and time again. And as every time fore, will e’er labour with all our heart, to see

that we weather, and prosper, amidst aught yet to come, and pen of our realm, a fate, of gilded gold.

Mayor Gareth: I thank you for your time, and your answers Lady-Chancellor. I would like to open thing up to the others, if they have any questions,

if you are willing of course. Moderated as well, so as to not be overwhelmed.

Dame Amélie: Of course!

Public Q1: Do you think down the line, another union / confederation like that of the Heartlands, may happen again, with Númendil?

Bon’Ox: With the close alliance between Númendil & the Commonwealth, forged over the many years - do you think down the line, another situationship

like that of the Heartlands, may happen?

Dame Amélie: Our Númendain kindred have, and will e’er be our fondest kindred, of that I suffer ne’er see change, in as many summers as there might

come - however.

Dame Amélie: I can assure all herein convened, that a union, like that brought us, and our former Heartlandic kin, together, will ne’er come to pass

again.

Dame Amélie: Despite her late Majesty’s dream, it has become apparent, that whatever kinship is shared between us, and any of our dearest, and closest

Aevosi kindred; that such bonds come only chafe, and wear, amidst the labours of one joined realm. The past, is naught soon to be forgotten, and the kindred

of two disparate realms, even whence replete with the deepest virtue, and kind intentions, whether intentionally or naught, will see that their long-sworn kindred,

are favoured by their labours most, on naught grounds, but the closeness & kinship shared already. Fore long, the virtuous hearted, and honour-bound, struggle,

as the few ill-hearted, scheme, and bid even former kindred against one another, for the hopes of strength, and influence, perverting of our values, virtues, and

every greatest hope, as a kinswar, chances to potentially emerge, from amidst the depths of avarice, and ill-intention of the few.

Dame Amélie: Yes, it chances true, that we joined our Aaunic kindred fore we properly bid our kindred closer, to share deeper of a heart - but even should we

have taken every labour fore, the Brigade of Marna, and the thoughts, and ambitions harboured by their peerage, kept in the depths of their hearts, would have

surfaced erelong.

Dame Amélie: Even amidst a people, so kindred & dear, as the Númendain, the closeness, doubt & joining of two separated cultures, so unequivocally, to

make of two realms, one, would still like as naught, draw us further apart, than it could e’er draw us closer.

Dame Amélie: Such is the lesson we have too soon forgotten, taught unto us by the fall of the Empire, and the legacy, of the Harvest Rebellion. A lesson, we’re

ne’er intent to see repeated anew.

Bon’Ox: Thank you for your answer. (Translated)

Public Q2: Is local administration going to continue being supported, or will there be more of a focus on centralization in the future?

Brgm. Nicholas: I have a question concerning local administration, in the past few years I have enjoyed local autonomy, even expanded the local

administration of Chambery as the city grew, so I wondered. If such local administration would continue to be supported, or if in the future there are plans

to refocus it more, and centralise it.

Dame Amélie: Dearest Nicholas, you know well the Commonwealth, is ne’er defined by it’s heart alone, but the every limb that makes of our realm whole

- as long as such measures do naught infringe upon the terms that chart the nature of our dearest, and closest, twin free-city, thence I beg of you to nary worry.

Brgm. Nicholas: Thank you for your answer. I do hope to rekindle some common projects in the future, sharing stewards across cities, and the like - though

I will leave that for the future, once the new Capital is built.

End of the Interview

As the last of the public questions are answered, and one is bid in good-humour, does the Lord-Maire close the interview for the eve, upon chancing to see the

Lady-Chancellor’s sleeplessness; thanking her for the opportunity & answers.

Dame Amélie: And thank you, your Highness, for taking the time to help me elucidate the matters of our realm, unto our kindred people, I rest assured knowing

I do naught labour alone, and that shares the hope of our realm’s continued prosperity, with yourself, and all herein.

Mayor Gareth: Thank you for being willing to speak in public after the Garmont. Go get your rest now.

Dame Amélie: I vow to do just so, I wouldn’t suffer bid concern unto aught of our dearest beloved herein. Come this next saint’s day, I beg all herein, to ne’er

hesitate, to either pen, or approach me, any chance they get - it is amongst all herein, dearly beloved, recently-endeared, or eternally avowed, that my heart beats

deepest.
