To the Hyspian Government and People,

It is a sad day when we of one blood and one nation come to disagreements with each other over matters both large and small. Yet the recent actions of my niece, Xiomara I, and the council within Hyspia have forced my hand if we of Ramonadora are to prevent our complete and total removal from land which we have tilled for decades.

The matter in which I speak of is in regards to La Dorada’s new expansion plans. For you see, it was previously agreed among the councilors of Hyspia that while the capital’s expansion would indeed take some land from the village to contribute to the capital’s expansion and leave the remaining village in tact to expand southward, the councilors of Hyspia have since gone back on their word. It has been revealed that now, rather than simply relocating one or two houses, the expansion plans of La Dorada seek to bulldoze the entirety of the village of Ramonadora.

It should not need to be explained why this is utterly unacceptable. We, the small folk of Ramonadora, have faithfully tilled the soil of our village for well over 30 years. We have lived, breathed, bled, and fought for this land while still maintaining a consistent flow of food to the capital. We built by hand the houses, barns, forges, and fields that our people live and work within. Furthermore, the destruction of Ramonadora would in effect leave the entirety of the population of Ramonadora without a place to stay, considering there is no currently constructed alternative for our people to move to.

It thus must be said that I, Ser Nicolas Murietta, Baron of Ramonadora, reject the eviction notice placed upon the village of Ramonadora by the government of Hyspia. We, the people of Ramonadora, will not leave this land that we have lived on for the past 30 years merely to conform with the comfortable living of those in the capital

Let it first be said that I do not seek war against my Niece or my kin in the capital. I will not raise my banners in rebellion unless I am left with no other alternative. Instead, I call forth the Hyspian government to accept the following terms.

  1. The Government of Hyspia must accept the rights of the small folk of Ramonadora to live and work on the land which for 30 years they have called their home.

  1. The Government of Hyspia must do away with the eviction notice currently placed upon the village of Ramonadora.

  1. The Government of Hyspia must return to the previous agreement of La Dorada’s expansion plans, only taking the northernmost pieces of land from the village.

Until these aforementioned terms are accepted or otherwise negotiated, the following shall be put into place effective immediately after this missive.

  1. The village of Ramonadora will cut all supplies of food to the capital, initiating a blockade of goods.

  1. The fields of Ramonadora which currently grow food upon them will be destroyed, with the seeds of each crop being stored within Ramonadora so the fields may be replanted if the Government of Hyspia accepts the above terms

  1. Any and all attempts made by the Government of Hyspia or its subservient Soldados to seize property within Ramonadora, arrest small folk within Ramonadora, or otherwise take action within Ramonadora will be resisted until the aforementioned terms are met.

To my Niece and her surrounding councilors who no doubt will whisper in her ear, telling her to at once declare me an outlaw and revoke me of my titles, know this - Without farmers, there is no food. Without food, there is no life. This is not a threat, but a mere fact of living. I am open to negotiations and am willing to meet in the land between Ramonadora and La Dorada, but not within the capital itself.

If the Government of Hyspia does not cease its current eviction notice upon Ramonadora within one day’s time, we of Ramonadora will be forced into greater action. Do not force our hand, Xiomara. Revoke your eviction notice, and come to the table.

Signed,

His Lordship, Ser Nicolas Murietta, Baron of Ramonadora, the Farming man, Head of House Murietta

Ser Julian exhaled a sigh of contempt, fingers coiled around his precious build plans. “Alright, Ser Nicolas. You asked for it. Aggressive negotiations is what you will receive.”

Rosaria would read the missive given to her by her father, the woman staring at it for a while before she simply sighed, "This is not going to go well." She muttered to herself, her hand reaching up to pinch the bridge of her nose.

Andres del Maravilla lets out a weary sigh, his gaze drifting across the farmlands beyond. "Ser Murietta is a wise man. He knows what is best. May the wants and needs of our farmers be listened to."

[!] A letter is pinned under the missive in the realm of Hyspia!
"Dear Nicolas Murietta,
I am Antonio Flavio Fuentes, son of the late Margrave, Ser Jose Angel Fuentes. I have heard the struggles of your people and fully sympathize with such, as the small folk make up the backbone of a nation. Farmers bringing life to the badland wastes shouldn't be met with such disdain. Henceforth, I shall come to your aid with a band of my most loyal and skilled Gauchos. Godspeed, and see you soon."

Signed,

Antonio Flavio Fuentes

"If they were prepared to remove the entirety of the farming village, then threatening to withhold the exports of said village that they had planned to erase would surely be no big threat? Unless they take advantage of this moment to make Hyspia see them as more valuable than their repurposing of land." Yera muttered to herself whilst reading through the texts before her, a few wisps of mana dissipating from the area after her recent portalling.

"He makes demands without even knowing the full plans?" Xiomara stared down at the papers declared, and had to wonder if her Tio finally got into the drugs. "Fine. If this is how he wants to play it. May DIOS bless him."

Leomonte utters upon seeing the missive, "So the Sovereign's Uncle is revolting, but he is not 'revolting'..." He is ecstatic, for Leomonte now has a legal reason to kill Nicolas. To bring death upon a Rebel is just, no?
